The bangle is in fair condition, one split pearl is lacking and the peridot/amethyst are scuffed commensurate with age/wear. It fastens with a tongue and box catch and features a safety chain. A Mintons 'Cloisonné' Aesthetic Movement vase in the manner of Dr Christopher Dresser, date stamp for 1883, the twin handled vase decorated with polychrome enamelled butterflies to the flared neck and floral, foliate and fruiting sprigs to the body, set against a turquoise ground with gilt highlights, printed maker's mark and impressed indistinctly 'Mintons U' and '3091' to base, 29cm high SEE CONDITION REPORT FOR FULL INFORMATION CONDITION REPORT: The piece shows no visible chips, cracks or losses, and no visible signs of restoration. There is rubbing to the gilt highlights throughout (including some loss to the design at the base of the neck) most noticeably to one handle where the gilt has worn through revealing the porcelain (see images) and some discolouration to the cobalt blue areas. Two very, very feint hairlines around the base of each of the upper handles, where the handle meets the body, these do not appear to be surface reaching and on one side extends up around the side of the handle (see additional images for further clarification of this). The body shows fine surface scratching in places, but no visible crazing. The enamel colours are generally strong and bright, but there is some evidence of enamel wear to the black areas of the butterflies. The piece is grubby and would also benefit from professional cleaning. PLEASE NOTE: due to the nature of the shape of the piece it is impossible for us to see the interior of the lower section of the vase. Stierstadt came into possession of present copy in 1929 and later obviously transferred it to the library of the institute. Among the most interesting illustrations are a typhoon, cherry blossoms, a tsunami, or a theatrical performance attended by three Dutch characters on their way to Edo (now Tokyo). From 1640 to 1860, Japan was forbidden to foreigners. Only the Dutch trade delegations staying in Nagasaki were tolerated and invited once a year to Edo to present gifts to the Shògun. - Very nice copy. Red owner stamp. The back seams were renewed. 'This collection of eleven tracts all issued with a separate title page and dated 1675, is rare and often imperfect, and it contains two of Boyle's major contributions to physical science ... The rare first issue bears on the general title-page the date 1675 but most copies have a cancel general title bearing the date 1676 ... The collection is important because of the tracts on magnetism and electricity ... The tracts on taste and smell are the first monographs in the history of physiological literature to be devoted to these special senses (Fulton). 'The "mechanical" in the title, to Boyle and his contemporaries, was always in opposition to both "Aristotelian" and "mystical"; mechanical explanations were rational and also, inasmuch as they dealt with particles of matter and their motion, consonant with the newly formulated laws of mechanics' (DSB).

Included are buildings in Sarajevo (Gazi-Husrev-Beg Mosque and Ali-Pascha Mosque), Banja Luka (renovation of the entrance hall of the Ferhadiya Mosque), Foca (Aladza Mosque) and 5 panels with pencil designs for the Bosnian exhibition pavilion at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. - From the estate of the Vienna-based architect Jaro Karl Merinsky, all designs with his stamp and manuscript numbering, a few with handwritten additions by him. Merinsky was the author of several influential books on building construction and, after the First World War, president of the Technical University in Vienna. - Some small stains and short tears, mostly in folds.
