Unusual 19th Century Military Sword, German made probably for the British army, pipe back blade 33" with maker's stamp and British inspector's stamp (?), steel hilt with triple bar guard, folding sideguard, plain pommel, in a British steel cavalry trooper's scabbard stamped VR Enfield 1848, engraved with regimental markings 7H's B (erased) 356. Good condition, sword grip replaced with filler, scabbard pitted.

Handwritten Note by Famous WW1 War Artist Sir William Orpen, the note in ink has his signature to the bottom. On official paper with ink stamp of the Orderly Room AS Corps Kensington Barracks and dated 12 11 16. Note has been folded and shows some wear. The note appears to be written to a Mr Wynham and is complaining about where he is and saying he is not allowed out to do any drawing, maybe this is in response to a commission request.
Imperial German Prussian Artillery Pickelhaube with grey metal fittings on leather skull. The top fitting is missing the ball top. Original grey metal back spine piece. Interior retains the original leather liner. Regimental markings to the back peak BA XV 1916 and makers stamp with 1916 date to the interior shell. Shell remains in good condition.

§ Philippe Halsman (American, 1906-1979) Dali and Skull, 1951, gelatin silver print, printed later, with the photographer's copyright credit edition stamp on verso, edition number 175/250 gelatin silver print from an edition 175/250 30 x 26cm (12 x 10in) Photographer Philippe Halsman and artist Salvador Dali collaborated for 37 years after meeting in New York in 1941. Halsman was able to bring to life some of Dali's seemingly impossible ideas. Dirt under the glass and some damage to top and right hand edge of print where surface has lifted - see images.
