Has all the early pre-war features including stripper clip cut into frame and barrel collar. The bolt is electro-pencil etched on bottom with matching serial number. Features rust blued barrel, hooded ramp front sight, Winchester sporting rear, matte blue finish frame, front bridge factory tapped for scope mount, straight comb checkered pistol grip stock, sling swivels and an early Winchester checkered steel buttplate with teet. Floorplate has a storage scuff and there is a hint of muzzle wear. Wood is near mint with nary an impression. It was in Canada and has a small Washington import stamp under barrel. Nice enough for a box. Serial Number-37169; Manufacturer-Winchester; Model-70; Caliber-7mm Mauser; Barrel Length-24"; FFL Status-Curio & Relic;

Lot 119

They are consecutively numbered 185 and 186. Each badge has an eagle on top with the state steel. Made of brass or bronze. No. 186 was made Whitehead & Hoag, Newark. No. 185 is the same maker with a different stamp.

Lot 1213

Top of barrel has the "P.W." inspector stamp with Ordnance bomb. Left side of frame is stamped "U.S.". Left side of stock has the "W.B." inspector stamp in square, along with Ordnance wheel. Features include single bead front sight, military parkerized finish, corncob serrated walnut forend, and pistol grip (no cap) fluted stock with Winchester black composite buttplate. The late WWII production U.S. riot gun were not equipped with sling swivels. This shotgun falls directly into the range of U.S. shotguns. (930,000-950,000 per Canfield) Barrel and receiver are a mix of patina with the original military matte parkerized finish. Stocks are excellent with no cracks, just the usual small abrasions. Mirror bore and perfect action. Overall a fine condition example of a popular World War II pump action shotgun. According to Bruce Canfield in his book, "Combat Shotguns," production totals were significantly less (for riot guns) than for the trench guns, fewer genuine examples are around, very scarce U.S. Martially marked firearm. Serial Number-932470; Manufacturer-Winchester; Model-97; Barrel Length-20"; FFL Status-Curio & Relic; Gauge-12; Chamber-2-3/4"; Choke-Cylinder;

Lot 1256

According to the factory letter, this revolver was shipped to the Colt's office, New York on November 18th, 1862 in the shipment of two guns listed with blue finish and ivory stocks. Rarely do you find a civilian Colt Model 1860 with ivory stocks listed in the ledger. The revolver is a standard commercial model. Features round barrel, rebated cylinder with Naval scene, cut for shoulder stock, six shot, single action, blued barrel and cylinder, case colored frame and hammer, blued steel backstrap and brass trigger guard. Original ivory grips are in very good condition showing numerous age cracks, including a crack on the right side at frame. Matching serial numbers on barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, wedge and cylinder. Traces of case colors on frame and some bright blue in recesses. Basically a smooth gun metal patina with sharp legends and 50% cylinder scene. Indexes and locks up perfectly with a strong, clean rifled bore. Under each serial number the letter "IP" is stamped with the exception of the cylinder and wedge. The "IP" stamp is usually found on factory fitted ivory or plated. It is obvious this revolver was very special, well used and cared for. Serial Number-56854; Manufacturer-Colt; Model-1860 Army; Caliber-.44 percussion; Barrel Length-8"; FFL Status-Antique;

Lot 1259

This is a standard U.S. issue Colt Single Action Army manufactured in 1880. The D.F.C. David Clarke inspector stamp can be found on bottom of frame and side of cylinder. Matching numbers on frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder. Cylinder also has the "P" stamp. Three line address on frame with U.S. stamp. The barrel is a replacement with no serial number, inspector, or caliber with a 2-3/8" address that can be seen on page 105 in the book "Cavalry and Artillery Revolvers". The one piece walnut grips are also a replacement part with no number in channel, no visible inspector mark, and slightly shy to metal. Has the proper hammer and donut ejector head. Barrel legend is sharp. Metal is basically a smooth blue-brown patina. Indexes perfectly with all four clicks. Bore is near mint. Fine Indian Wars Cavalry Clarke inspected with notes to the replacement parts. Serial Number-56106; Manufacturer-Colt; Model-SAA; Caliber-.45 LC; Barrel Length-7-1/2"; FFL Status-Antique;

Lot 126

The Adams Express Company was similar to Wells Fargo that they shipped and guarded precious metals, documents, bank transfers, etc. The collection includes a 19th century inspector's badge stamped "Wagon Service Department", one of the earliest badges we have seen from this company. Measures 3" x 2-1/4". It is silver with eagle on top. Also include an 1890's dated and stamped Adams Express Company shipping receipt with tax stamp. And an original Adams Express Company Pennsylvania Division envelope dated January 26th, 1888 with stamp. Comes with two Adams Express uniform buttons off a guard coat. If you have an Adams Express marked revolver, you would have an extremely nice 19th century collection.

Lot 1262

The large frame No. 4 revolver resembles the .455 Pryse. This example is scarce factory nickel, six shot, double action, top break. Back of the cylinder is stamp 186 in small letters and 32 in large font. Left side of the frame is stamped "Webley's No. 4 .476 CF". Has the "W&S" (Webley & Scott) winged bullet. Every cylinder flute has the British proof. Fine checkered walnut one piece grips with lanyard ring. Gun indexes perfectly. Strong clean bore. Top of barrel is stamped "P. Webley & Son Birmingham". Revolver retains approximately 97-98% overall factory nickel finish. Cylinder shows virtually no signs of burn. It is doubtful this gun has ever been fired. The nicest example of this rare revolver we have ever seen and it would be impossible to improve upon the condition. Serial Number-10458; Manufacturer-Webley & Scott; Model-Horsley - Pryse; Caliber-.476 CF; Barrel Length-5 - 5/8"; FFL Status-Antique;

Lot 1279

Standard features include octagon barrel, blued finish, case colored hammer and lever, and two piece walnut grips. This revolver was part of the 5,000 revolvers delivered to the government in September of 1865. Left side grip has perfect cartouche. Military inspector stamp "B" on all major parts. All matching serial numbers. The top and left side of the frame retain 70% of the high polish blue finish, balance grey patina with flashes of blue and some minor salt and pepper on right side of frame. Grips are excellent to near mint. Fine, untouched, scarce Civil War era revolver. Serial Number-4087; Manufacturer-Rogers & Spencer; Model-Percussion Revolver; Caliber-.44 Percussion; Barrel Length-7 - 1/2"; FFL Status-Antique;

Lot 1290

Serial Number-107683; Manufacturer-Remington; Model-1858 Army; Caliber-.44 percussion; Barrel Length-8"; FFL Status-Antique;

Lot 1291

Manufactured by Bacon MFG Co. Norwich Conn in 1858-1867. This is a scarce revolver with approximately only 1,100 manufactured with the Bacon stamp. Features five shot, fluted percussion magazine, blue finish and two piece walnut grips. Barrel has traces of original blue, cylinder retains 40-50% original blue, frame is dark brown patina. Grips are excellent indexes perfectly, visible rifling. Serial Number-564; Manufacturer-Bacon; Model-2nd Model; Caliber-.31 Percussion; Barrel Length-5"; FFL Status-Antique;

Lot 1300

A quick call to Dr. Richard and we were informed that this rifle was originally shipped as an 1874 musket. There was no serial number under the barrel, so it was obviously period converted to a sporting rifle during the era using an extra barrel (factory proper) stamped "Sharps Rifle Company Bridgeport Conn.". Has the "Old Reliable" stamp on top barrel flat. Breech is stamped "Cal. 45" and fits a .45-70 perfectly. The breech measurement is 2-9/16" on the side of the barrel which indicates a bigger (longer) casing length which is probably a 45-90. Patina on the barrel matches perfectly to the frame. Has C. Sharps patent "Sept. 13, 1848" on left side. Features single trigger. Appears to have the original factory buttstock with sling swivel. Sports the proper style two screw walnut forend with slight Schnabel. Wood color and finish matches perfectly with the buttstock. Forend has a 4" repaired crack on right side. Right side of buttstock has a 3" grain separation. Wood to metal fit is perfect Left side of buttstock has the same 3" grain separation. Rear sight slot cut now sports a Springfield type military rear sight that utilizes the original slot. Front sight is period adjustable sight with tube and target post inside. Action is perfect and strong, clean bore. Has an all matching homogeneous patina that would lead you to believe it left the factory just like this and was most likely a factory alteration to a sporting rifle. All parts are aged in the same manner and tone. This rifle has lots of character in excellent shape. While the rear sight may be accurate, a sporting sight would be more fitting. Serial Number-C52398; Manufacturer-Sharps; Model-Sporting; Caliber-.45-70; Barrel Length-30"; FFL Status-Antique;

Lot 1304

Lock is marked "E. Whitney" over "U.S." and also "N. Haven 1851". Features a walnut full length stock, two barrel bands, steel tulip ramrod, patchbox stamped with a "B", two sling swivels. Buttplate is stamped "U.S.". Inspector stamp "U.S. and "J.G.B." on left side of barrel at breech. Stock has a strong cartouche in oval on left side. Left sideplate is stamped with a "W". These guns were originally finished in brown. All metal surface on this rifle have been tin plated, usually found on sea-service weapons. Left side of barrel breech is stamped N.J." for New Jersey militia. And the most unusual aspect of this rifle is that the last 2-5/8" of the barrel have been turned down to a slightly smaller dimension to allow for a U.S. socket bayonet which locks in place using the front sight. This alteration was done prior to the application of the tin plating. Plating is wearing thin on rear barrel band, there is usual brown patina around breech at nipple and top of lock, some bubbling of finish on barrel but is otherwise 75% intact. Intact but thinning on buttplate, patchbox and trigger guard with brass showing through. Strong visible rifling with usual black powder abrasion. Perfect action. This is an interesting Whitney sea-service tin plated musket, and while we're sure other like examples exist, this is the first that we have seen. Complete with period U.S. bayonet. Serial Number-NSN; Manufacturer-Whitney; Model-Percussion Rifles; Caliber-.54 percussion; Barrel Length-33"; FFL Status-Antique;
