Victorian 3rd VB Liverpool Regiment Other Rank’s Home Service Pattern Helmet.A scarce example, to the front a regulation pattern helmet plate bearing the title “LIVERPOOL 3RD VOLR. BATTN”, the White Horse of Hanover to centre. The blue cloth helmet complete with white metal cross piece, spike and rose head bosses supporting a leather backed chin chain. The interior with leather sweatband and ink stamp. The helmet retains a good shape, but with mothing.
Scottish. 1902-1918 Highland Light Infantry Militia Battalion Officer’s shako.A fine quality example, tailored by Anderson & Sons of Edinburgh . Dark blue body with diced band red-white-red and red-green-red. To the front, a regimental post 1902 shako badge (Blank Scroll) and a cord boss mounted with gilt thistle device. Black patent leather peak. The interior is with leather sweatband and silk lining with tailor’s gold stamp. Overall very good, green woollen ball tuft absent. .... Accompanied by regimental pattern Officer’s cap lines.
Royal Welsh Fusiliers Other Rank’s Fusilier Fur Cap.A good 1913 example, black fur, with brass grenade in front, bearing Prince of Wales’s plumes. Upright white horsehair plume in socket on right hand side. Complete with brass chin chain. The interior with leather liner and bearing WD stamp dated 1913, also other issue stamps indicating issue to the 4th Bn. This example with gilt Prince of Wales Plume chain hooks. GC.
German. WW2 Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager Paratrooper’s single decal helmet.A good scarce example, retaining Luftwaffe decal which is 90% present. The interior retains leather lining with maker’s ink stamp. The size appears to be 55. The leather lining remains in good supple condition. PLEASE NOTE the helmet has been painted with a later grey finish, however the Luftwaffe eagle has been painted round and shows the original finish to the background. Straps absent. The vendor states the helmet was brought home by his father who served in North West Europe.

WW2 RAF Fighter Pilot’s Casualty Caterpillar Club Badge, Log Book, Photograph Archive.A scar e grouping of items attributed to Flying Officer Stanley Thomas Worbey who was killed in action 8 days before the end of WW2 whilst flying a Hawker Tempest of 3 Squadron. Comprising: Wartime issue of the caterpillar Club badge. Gilt metal with red glass eyes and pin fitting. Reverse engraved “F/O S WORBEY” ... Pilot’s flying log book, this covering the period 16th October 1941 to 30th April 1945 “Tempest V Attack on Schewin A/D Missing” Red ink stamp “Death Presumed”. The log gives good detail to operation flights including target results etc ... Snap shot personal photograph album showing training in South Rhodesia, operational flying with 112 Squadron flying Kittyhawks fighter aircraft Italy. plus images of other aircraft etc .... Quantity of wartime newspaper cuttings giving information when he first went missing March 1944 and later April 1945 missing and then killed ... Plus other loose photographs etc. Flying Officer Stanley Thomas Worbey from Letchworth joined the RAF in October 1940 and volunteered for aircrew duties as a Pilot. After training in South Rhodesia he received his first operational posting to 112 (Shark) Squadron in March 1943. Flying with B Flight the Squadron operated the Curtiss Kittyhawk III, with the distinctive shark teeth and eyes painted to the nose. He flew his first “Op” on then 18th March this being a bomber escort duty no enemy aircraft encountered but lots of heavy flak. He flew a large number of missions, ground attack on transport and on the 13th March 1944 the log records: Kittyhawk III Bombing and Strafing M/T Rome area hit by A/A bailed out landed in enemy territory. An accompanying newspaper cuttings records that news reached home on the 30th that he was safe, this is the action for the award of the Caterpillar badge. The log’s next recorded flight is not until the 14th August 1944 now flying with 53 OTU. Although keen to return to operational flying it would not be until 2nd April 1945 he would be posted to the Tempest conversion flight with a posting to 3 Squadron 122 Wing on the 23rd April 1945. He flew his first op with 3 Squadron on the 24th April an armed recce, but “Not much Joy”. Flying again the following day “damaged a Loco and some trucks”. Although the war was fast drawing to a close during the 6 days he was with 3 Squadron he flew 5 sorties, he last on the 30th April Attack on Schewin A/D (ammunition Dump) Missing”.
WW1 Royal Flying Corps Cockpit Watch Circa 1914.A rare early war issue example signed to the silvered face “No. 114/A.F. W. Ehrhardt London Mark IVA 8 Days”. The nickel case with WD Issue stamp and fitted with long winding stem, with no provision for loop. PLEASE NOTE the watch is not in working condition and requires attention.
Boer War 6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers)1882 Pattern British Cavalry Trooper’s Sword.A good clean example with single edged blade with date stamp of 1890 and issue stamps for 1899. The hilt with pierced guard and two piece leather grip, with five rivets. The guard with stamps “6 DG 0.80”. Housed in regulation pattern metal scabbard with two fixed rings, this with the scarce feature of retaining most of the khaki paint field finish. Accompanied by a saddle equipment leather sword frog with 1900 date stamp. (2 items)
WW2 Period 3rd Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Parkerised ‘I’ Commando fighting knife.A very good example. The hilt with Parkerised finished to the ribbed grip and to the oval cross guard with a WD arrow and “I” above stamp. The pommel is embossed with a “2” and the double edged blade with spear point, Housed in dark brown leather scabbard with Parkerised square chape and with leather tangs. The overall condition is very good clean condition, blade length 17 cm
WW2 2nd pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Parkerised Commando fighting knife, “WD 3”A good used and scarce example. The hilt with Parkerised finished to the chequered grip, the oval cross guard with WD inspection stamp with “3”. Double edged spear point blade, with Parkerised finish. Housed in dark brown leather scabbard with Parkerised rounded chape, now worn to base brass. The elasticated retaining strap now absent the scabbard retains leather tangs. The overall condition is good clean condition, blade length 16.3cm
WW2 Indian Paratrooper Combat KnifeA scarce example with double edged blade with short central fuller and square shank forte, this bearing stamp MK1 42 M LL. The reverse with “M.E.”. Hilt with steel oval crossguard and wooden slab grips with three grooves and secured by two steel rivets. Contained in its leather scabbard with metal throat and chape and mounted into a web frog. See British & Commonwealth Military Knives by Flook plate 491 for similar.
A mixed lot of ceramics to include 1930s Charlotte Rhead vase with painted and embossed water dragons, mark to base with Charlotte Rhead and Crown Ducal factory stamp, a part Noritake red stamp coffee set with floral pattern and green trellis, Shelley part tea service, Regent shape, pattern C12581 (some af), pewter quart measure mug with later added spout with indistinct inscription, possibly name and address in Peckham, a boxed Britains model iron and two carved Black Forest figures of gentleman and a worker.
