Engraved portrait frontispiece, 27 small woodcut coats of arms (22 of them coloured or partially hand-coloured at a later date). (Spotted, browned, E1 with tear from lower margin into text, S2 with small rusthole, 3A3-3B2 with tears to outer blank margins.) Old sheep (rebacked, later endpapers). Sir Edward Elgar Signed Letter, signature is on original headed paper from the Lord Chamberlains Office St Jame?s Palace, London. Letter has an ink date stamp of 22 MAY 1933. The ten line letter in his personal hand writing is in ink and has his signature to the bottom. Letter has some fold marks and creases but generally remains in good condition. Ex Harry Spilstead Collection.
Edward VII Dorset Imperial Yeomanry Regimental Mess China Plate with regimental blue transfer insignia to the top. Some light wear to the glazing. Marks on the reverse where the plate has been mounted onto a wall and two small chips to the lower section of the reverse. Booths makers stamp to the reverse of the plate.
A French silver plated mantel clock, the silvered roman dial with engraved leaf and shell design two train Japy Freres movement, with retailer's stamp 'Bennett, Cheapside, London', the case with leaf pattern ogee cornice above an arched bevelled glazed door, ebonised wooden sides, embossed rear door with classical figures, decorative plinth with ebonised inserts on leaf pattern feet.
A Victorian three-piece tea service, by C.F., Sheffield 1872, of circular tapering form and engraved crest, with applied anthemion scallop-shell bands, paw feet, the teapot with later finial, height of teapot 6 1/2in. (16.5cms), bears retailer's stamp of Elkington & Co., 45 Moorgate Street, London, 38.5oz. gross.
