A longcase clock approx. 1860 believed by a Nottingham maker. 8-day movement with 13” arch dial depicting the Crimean war beautifully painted. The case is of superb quality made of mahogany, swan neck to hood inlays to trunk of case. It bears the makers stamp John Hill Nott’s, on the back of the trunk door. Hill is a known maker of clock cases and is recorded at Wollaston Street, Nottingham, Nott’s as a clock case maker. The movement has unusual plates. An original clock
