STAMPS : BRITISH COMMONWEALTH, Imperial Postage Stamp Album (2nd edition) for issues up to 1928 with a mint & used scattering of stamps. The album is in good to fine condition with many pages unused, or with stamps removed leaving some hinge remainder. Many useful stamps still remain. A lovely project to fill!!

In its rectangular, black lacquered box with lid and a ring on the sides placed on a gilded metal base shaped as a chrysanthemum. On the bottom of the box marking and stamp in Japanese 'Mi-eboshi-shi, Sugimoto Mimasaka-no-kami' (Master of Manufacture for Eboshi of Mimasaka). height 17.5 cm.
dating: About 1940 provenance: Japan, Hand-painted roll, Nihon-ga, depicting a kabuto. Signed Shoubu Daietsu and with Rakkan stamp. Complete with double wooden box. Most of the works with Samurai objects belong to the Showa era (1926-45). The double wooden box means 'Important objects inside', the external one lacquered in dark red and with a label. dimensions 66 x 139 cm.
dating: 1860 provenance: Genova, Rifled, 10 mm cal. barrel (clean bore, still visible rifling), round, octagonal at the base with adjustable rear sight, foresight and tubular club guide for the bayonet. Long tang. Forward spring lock signed 'MULLER IN GENOVA'. Wooden full stock with some signs of use, and stamp '1' on the side and oval plate with silver inscription 'Luigi Malatesta Compagnia 1859-1860' with a Savoy knot. Working trigger and set trigger. Iron mounts and ramrod. length 128 cm.
