The Nigel. J. Clarke photographic archive to include the Luftwaffe Aerial Archive of Great Britain & Ireland 1939 - 1942. There are approximately 408 contact negatives of the United Kingdom and Ireland.The main Luftwaffe Archive of negatives was destroyed by a fire at the end of the war, and the only available sources were the files and material that had been kept at former German airfields and military installations. In the 1950s all these records were shipped to the United States where the archive was classified as top-secret and disappeared from the public domain until its release in 1970s. These negatives were taken directly from the original prints. In four ring binders.(Inventory in Excel format available on request, we have not checked every image and cannot guarantee that this list is complete.) Original Target and operational material issued to Luftwaffe Pilots.Aerial Pictures-Target Sheets-German Extracts of Ordnance Survey Maps.There is a collection of approximately 147 items which are all original and captured by the Belgium Resistance Group who raided an abandoned Luftwaffe Airfield. Some of the images have the Lion Stamp of this group. In three folders27 original Luftwaffe target photographs, including Canterbury, Dover, Glasgow, Hastings, Hendon, Newhaven, Southend and Thames Haven.( Most of the photographs are stamped on the back and have information relating to the photograph in German ) In one folio.Original British War Photographs, 66 images.A diverse range of images by war photographers including a number of planes in flight,King George-German POWs-Blitz pictures (St Pauls, London) Aerial images of Dunkirk and Royal Airforce reconnaissance images of night bombing raids on Germany-the parade of Axis POWs in Moscow after the route at Stalingrad- Images of Russian attacks on the eastern front. [Situationists] German Situationist posters, lot of 2 (1) Includes the German language version of the poster 'Dans le décor spectaculaire ou le regard ne contre que les choses et leur prix', originally from 1967 which served to announce the release of Internationale Situationniste #11. Comics designed by Bertrand with text attributed to Raoul Vaneigem, published by Les Presses du Marais, Paris. This copy printed black on white thick paper, 61 x 43 cm, folded 3 times, with moderate toning and creasing.(2) Auf der Reise zum Mittelpunkt der Geschichte. Printed black on offwhite paper, 69.5 x 50 cm, folded 3 times. Detourned comix style design promoting Situationist publications available through the Projektgruppe Gegengesellschaft in Dusseldorf, with prices in German Mark and Dutch Guilders added in blue handwriting. Undated, c. 1973. Contains a stamp on lower right corner of Bas Moreel, a publisher/distributor of anarchist literature in Wageningen. Copy with aging, wear and repair on all corners. (total 2)

[Women Artists] Jenny Holzer, Inflammatory Essays Published by the artist, 1979-1982. 10 offset lithographs, 25.4 x 25.4 cm, printed black on variously coloured paper, housed in a ziploc plastic bag. This work is from an edition of unknown size. Not signed or dated. Comprises a selection of posters from the Inflammatory Essays series, which Holzer had been posting in the streets of NYC beginning in 1979. The essays address intolerance, violence, rampant consumerism, the relations between the sexes and the abusive use of power.The sheets show moderate bends and creasing along the extremities (see pictures), the blue sheet has a vertical abrasion along the left lower margin (2 mm x 25 mm). The plastic bag features 'Jenny Holzer' handwritten in silver marker (not the artist's handwriting), a small perforation hole, and an embossed ex-libris stamp by the Dutch collector Ernst Kaars Sijpesteijn. [s and 1970s] Jean Tinguely, original Meta matic drawing, 1973 Original signed felt tip drawing. Brown, blue and light green marker on thick beige paper, 24 x 18.5 cm, numbered 60/100 and signed '& Tinguely' on recto in pencil. Verso features an address stamp by the Stedelijk Museum and the hand added date 21 9 73. Small hardly noticeable stain in lower right corner (mostly apparent at verso), else in fine condition.The Meta matic drawings were produced by an automated drawing device designed by Tinguely for his 1973 exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum. This copy was made by the Beeren family and Tinguely's do-it-yourself drawing machine. Wim Beeren was curator of the Stedelijk from the mid 60s to early 70s and headed the museum from 1985 to 2000.

U.S Army 1816 Pattern Civil War Percussion Conversion Musket a scarce .69cal smoothbore 1816 pattern US musket, lock plate stamped vertically Springfield 1827 on the tail and US with faint eagle forward of the hammer. Ordinance bolster type percussion conversion during the Civil War, circa 1861-62. Government U.S stamp to the butt plate tang and inspection mark P on breech. 42 inch round barrel with bayonet lug secured to the stock by 3-barrel bands. Full length walnut stock, original sling swivels, lower one secured to the trigger guard. Ramrod missing, complete with original bayonet stamped US LA and replacement, correct pattern, brown leather sling. Overall length 57 1/2 inches.
