*Luftwaffe. A WWII German Pilots or Observers Air Crew Beobachtungsuhr wristwatch (or B watch) made by LACO 22 Steine circa 1944, 5cm diameter black dial with arabic numerals, serial number D-06044, stamped on the inside of the rear cover with werk number 127 560b-1, 6044, the rear cover is stamped H6044 (matching to inside numbers) and faint ink stamp markings 24.4.44, the side of the watch is also engraved FL 23883, with part wrist strap and in full working order having been recently fully serviced These watches were Luftwaffe property. In WWII they were given to observers before the flight and had to be returned just after the landing. The watch also comes with provenance of how it was brought back from Germany in WWII by a British soldier Private James Alfred Bartlett (7655397) who was attached to 12th battalion Hampshire regiment part of the 43rd division Wessex. With copies of his army book and pictures. The watch was obtained from a German pilot who was a prisoner of war in allied hands and gifted the watch to Private Bartlett for tending his wounds etc near Glinstedt just prior to the Battle of Bremen.
