A WW1 trio of medals awarded to "02515 Pte. H. Jones A.O.C" (Army Ordnance Corps) comprising 1914-15 Star, War Medal and Victory Medal; sold together with a Second World War France and Germany Star and a Defence Medal, unnamed as issued. Notes: Pte. Herbert Jones was born in 1896 in Shrewsbury and served with both the Army Ordnance Corps and the Notts and Derby (Sherwood Foresters) Regiment (service number 72544). Pension ledgers show he lived at 32 Longden Green, Longden Road, Shrewsbury, and was discharged at the rank of Lance Corporal in April 1919, with the record further noting he was awarded disability due to war-attributed wounds. His date of death was possibly 1924, as per a 'DEAD' stamp on a ledger card.

With an embossed Admiralty seal to the top left corner and a five shillings Tax Duty Stamp on the left edge. This document is counter-signed by: 1. First Naval Lord, Admiral The Hon. Sir Frederick Grey GCB (23 August 1805 – 2 May 1878) 2. Second Naval Lord, Admiral Sir Charles Eden KCB (3 July 1808 – 7 March 1878) 3. Second Secretary William Govett Romaine CB (1815 – 29 April 1893) Notes: Rear-Admiral George Thomas Gordon's previous commands include HMS Comet (1837); HMS Cormorant (1843-47); HMS Ganges (1848); HMS Encounter (1849-1852); HMS Duke of Wellington (1854); HMS Victory (1855-56); HMS Hannibal (1858-59) and HMS Asia (1859-61). During his captaincy of HMS Ganges, Gordon was dispatched to oversee the Oregon border dispute with the United States in 1846. As Captain of HMS Duke of Wellington, he saw operations in the Baltic Campaign of 1854 (Crimean War) as the flagship of the fleet led by Admiral Sir Charles Napier. From 1855 onward, Gordon served on various ships based out of Portsmouth until his retirement in 1870.

A German Third Reich Heer Wehrmacht Panzer NCO's visor cap by Carl Halfar constructed of a field grey tricot with a dark green centreband, three rows of bright pink Panzer piping, with metal insignia and a black chinstrap, interior lined in brown cotton, size stamped 56 1/2 below the celluloid covering, with a dark brown sweatband and brown underside to the peak. The underside of the sweatband is nicely stamped in bold black ink with manufacturers details 'HB 36 Carl Halfar Berlin N20 Prinzenalle 74', 'HB 36' leather goods stamp and the date 'Aug 1937'
