Early 20th century AD. A mixed group of bronze stamps comprising: four discoid with six-pointed star motif; four square with rows of text, the largest with rosettes and symbols; nine scaphoid with spirals, concentric circles and lozenges; each with cage and knop handle to the reverse; many with traces of pigment in the stamp. 332 grams total, 18-56mm (3/4 - 2 1/4"). Property of a Warwickshire gentleman; formerly in the private collection of the famous actor Leslie Phillips; acquired 1950-1960. Born in 1924 in London, Leslie Phillips attended the Italia Conti Academy where he developed the slightly affected accent which became his trademark. He usually played a roguish, suave charmer, and also enjoyed successful comic roles in the early Carry On films and on radio’s The Navy Lark. He has appeared in more than fifty films, plays and TV series spanning six decades; and recently gained new fans through his appearances in the Harry Potter films. He was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 1998 Queen's Birthday Honours; promoted to Commander (CBE) in the 2008 New Year Honours. [17, No Reserve] Fine condition.

Group comprising: Cape of Good Hope, triangular 1 penny pair (replica number 1); Natal, Victoria, one shilling (replica number 2); Zululand, Victoria, 1 pound (replica number 16); Traansval, Edward VII, 5 pounds (replica number 22) and Orange Free State, Edward VII, 5 shillings (replica number 25); obverses all depicting the stamp design and reverses with a sailing ship and 'Our Stamp Heriatage / Ons Seëlerfnis / Replica No. / Replika Nr.' inscription in English and Afrikaans in four lines with maker's mark and fineness (.925 fine silver) marks embossed below. 73.27 grams total, 25-33mm. MAY 15 1860., having a plain cylinder, figure of eight cocking ring and trigger, under lever rammer and two piece walnut grip. (Some wear to the stamp on the barrel.) 37cm.
ENGLAND 1938 German post card showing head and shoulder pics of the England team that played Germany on 15 May 1938 in Berlin. Stamp and post marked 14 May 1938, no writing.
