Notes: A virtually identical pair bear the maker's stamp of George Wilson of Manthorpe Road, Grantham (fl.1841-1891) illustrated in The English Regional Chair by B D Cotton, p131, fig NE95.

Provenance: Royal Holloway College, Egham.

Boisseau, Émile André (1842-1923). A Fine Bronze Figure Group; 'Le Crépascule', having a rich brown patination. The female figure of guardian angel holding a lamp & sheltering two slumbering infants beneath her wings. The oval base signed Boisseau, dated 1880 with foundry stamp Thiébaut Frères Paris, 17 ins (43 cms) in height.
