Army Veterinary Department Victorian Officer’s Home Service Pattern Helmet. A rare example by L.Silberston, London. Blue cloth material with gilt peak edging, crosspiece, ball finial and rosettes. Gilt chinchain with black leather backing. Victorian pre 1901 helmet plate with AVD monogram in silvered metal on black enamel in the centre. Good roan leather headband and crimson silk lining, the interior with maker’s stamp. Minor moth to band, gilt elements slightly dull, Evidence of another helmet plate fitted at some time. otherwise GC.
Charles Stadden Watercolour of a Life Guard Trooper. A fine quality watercolour by Charles Stadden depicting a mounted Trooper in full dress participating in the Musical Ride 1973. Detail and colour is good. This watercolour was used for the Stadden Uniform Postcard published by Stamp Publicity. Mounted into a giltwood and glazed frame. GC. Overall size 16 x 22 inches.
19th Century Continental Cavalry Sword. This example similar to the Imperial Russian 1854 Dragoon pattern. This example with a curved single edged blade with fuller, the forte with the date 1864 and “D.R.” stamp. The hilt with a single brass D Shape guard with down swept quillon. The leather covered ribbed grip with heavy brass pommel. Housed in steel scabbard with two loose rings. Clean condition.

CONDITION REPORT Some wear commensurate with age, slight chipping to the paint work in places and evidence of crazing to the base but no other visible signs of damage.
