A 1998 Jaguar XK8 coupé, registration number S861 UEY, silver. Jaguar's new grand tourer was launched in 1996 with coupé and convertible body styles. Finished in silver with a black leather interior this coupé was originally supplied by Evans Halshaw of Stoke on Trent to its first owner, a Mr D Shearo. The Jaguar has a stamped service book with the last stamp on 4th October 2014 when a replacement engine was installed by Marina Garage Ltd. JOHN STOWE "The English Chronicles" published 1564 brown leather bound book CONDITION REPORTS Appears to have been re-bound, pages and spine loose and semi-detached in many places, pages have staining, discolouration, impressed stamps, various tears and losses, and various inscriptions to majority of the pages, leather boards and spine with various wear, discolouration, some tears and losses. The style of the numbering varies from page to page, and it is not known whether or not the book is complete. First blank page has impressed stamp and is mostly detached, front cover is mostly detached, back cover is partially detached, pages themselves appear fairly secure. There are five pages at the front of the book which are printed in black and red, followed by a page which starts "To the Right Ho.", this section comprises four pages followed by the page which is marked top right "Folio I", various subsequent pages have a mixture of "Folio" , "Fol." and "Fo." prefixing the number and some pages have simply a number either top right or above the text to the top, the last page in the book is marked top right "Fo. 246,", and the other side of this last page in the book has at the top "Queene Elizabeth", the back plain page also bears an impressed stamp inscribed "Cleopatra Needle Works". Some of the pages appear to be out of order e.g. "Fo. 90" is followed by "Fo. 82", and later there is a page numbered just "89" followed by a page numbered just "90", and later on still there occurs another page numbered "Fol. 90". Please note it is not known whether book is complete or not. Page 159 (just the number 159 on its own) is followed by page 162 (just the number 162 on its own). Page 242 (Fo.242,) is followed by page 243 (Fo.243,). Page "Fol.242, " is followed by page "Fo.242" (ie same page number, but which bears different text). The last page in the book is "Fo.246,", the back of this page ends "so endeth the Chronicles. 1564"
A fine and rare Doulton glazed pottery cased clock, modelled by George Tinworth and decorated by Hannah Barlow depicting a scallop shell capped nautilus shell holding the clock movement with Arabic numerals, surrounded by cherubs riding seahorses on a moulded socle base, bearing Doulton Lambeth stamp and date 1878, 27.5 cm wide x 22 cm high, together with two letters from Desmond Eyles of Doulton & Co. Limited, dated 13th July 1970 confirming the above, and another from Miss F Lovering of Doulton & Co. Limited, dated 24th July 1970 - believed by Desmond Eyles to be a unique piece CONDITION REPORTS Large firing cracks to underside of base, under UV light there is evidence of some repairs including one cherub having broken off and wing broken off, one cherub's wing is missing, some chips including to seashells to top, firing crack and/or later crack visible to the integral base, the whole appearance of the stoneware and glaze has quite a purplish colour under UV light, further crack to the edge of the integral base, dial is quite browned and stained.
