Hull Silver - an oxidised silver caddy spoon, by Charles Richard Berkin of Beverley, London 1987, Hull town mark, in the form of an open hand, the reverse with a turquoise set finger and an engraved wristwatch, length 9 cm, weight 1 oz. The last Hull working silversmith, Abraham Barachin, ceased working about 1706, after that retailers have occasionally used various additional marks such as a Victorian beaker, sold by these rooms as lot 62 on the 19th August 2016, which was assayed by Barney Barnett, Birmingham 1881 with a HULL stamp. This caddy spoon has a variation of the Hull town mark which the London assay office allowed Berkin to use as he produced the piece in East Yorkshire.
