Emmanuel Villanis (Lille 1858 - 1914 Paris) "Cendrillon" An Art Nouveau Bronze Pedestal Bust, circa 1905, modelled as a young woman wearing a head scarf and gazing downwards to sinister, upon a castellated shaped square base with title in relief, decorated in a three-colour patina, signed (on the shoulder), foundry stamp Vrai Bronze Garanti Paris, 62cm high Cendrillon is a chamber comic opera by Pauline Viardot, and is based on the story of Cinderella. The work has a cast of seven with piano orchestration, and was first premiered in Viardot`s Paris salon on 23 April 1904. Marie (Cendrillon) is the servant in the house of her father, who is a low noble in an alterative reality of France where Royalty still existed in 1904.

Sosson (Alexander) A Complete Instruction Book with rules to facilitate a knowledge of that Elegant Instrument, 35 engraved pp. including pictorial title-page, the latter loose, with deleted ownership signature and later owner`s stamp at bottom margin, inner edge slightly frayed, outer edge trimmed, Goulding & D`Almaine, [c.1830], bound with Sola (Charles Michael Alexis) Les Amusemens Tiroliens. Favourite Swiss Airs as sung by the Tyrolese Family Rainer at the Egytian Hall, 20 engraved pp. including title, (plate no.R.M.R. 416), publisher`s letterpress advertisement on last page, slightly cropped, I. Willis & Co., Royal Musical Repository, [c.1830], later wrappers, partly obscuring text of advertisement, folio ***Sosson`s tutor has scales and exercises interspersed with 43 pieces, ending with four songs with French text. Various arrangements of the Rainer repertoire are known with piano accompaniments, but this collection for guitar and the Sosson manual appear to be unrecorded. .
William Rose Bock (1847-1932) - a fine presentation illuminated scroll gifted To His Royal Highness Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David, The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII) upon the Royal Tour to New Zealand in 1920, signed in ink by `W F Massey` ("Farmer Bill" - William Ferguson Massey, Prime Minister 1912-1925) on behalf of His Majesty`s Ministers for the Dominion of New Zealand dated 24th Day of April, 1920, surmounted by The Prince of Wales crest, written in manuscript and decorated in watercolour with circular and oval vignettes depicting titled New Zealand landmarks with gilt Maori pediment embellishments, comprising `Mount Egmont`, `Wanganui River`, `Mitre Peak`, `Mount Cook`, `Lake Wakatipu`, `Wairoa Geyser`, `Wairoa Falls` and `Lake Taupo`, signed W R Bock delt, in a 9ct gold mount, later modern gilt frame, scroll 18" x 13" The text of this address is published in the official records of the visit by the Prince. The record also indicated that the address was originally issued in a casket made of New Zealand woods and included an historic green stone Tiki, sadly separated and missing from the scroll. *William Rose Bock was born in Hobart, Van Dieman`s Land (Tasmania), by then in his 70`s he was entrusted with the commission to draw this scroll as a result of his expertise in calligraphy and miniature painting, his artistic flair was demonstrated in his work as a medalist, stamp designer, engraver and illuminator. His work as an illuminator included two jubilee addresses to Queen Victoria and other addresses to Pope Pius IX and other visiting members of the Royal family.
A German four-piece tea and coffee service, with matching tray, retailer`s stamp of Keyser, 800 standard, circular design, with bay leaf pattern borders, wreath pattern cartouche, some engraved initial, on amphemian and incurve legs with hoof feet, height of coffee pot 10 3/4in. (27cms), the oval tray with cut handle, 19 1/4in. (49cms), 94oz. gross.
An Imperial German silver coloured cigarette case, the front with lined decoration surrounded by blue enamel border, and with blue enamel lined shield with engraved intitials “J M”, the back with superimposed shooting trophy and initials “SM”, the inside engraved “Zum 23. Geburststage gewidmet von diened Geshwistern”, with small maker’s stamp “Alpacca”. GC (small chips of enamel missing)
A shortened 1821 pattern heavy cavalry trooper’s sword, slightly curved fullered blade 27”, marked Enfield on backstrap with stamp at forte, steel bowl guard stamped “B93” and “D.DG.84”, plain pommel and backstrap with ears ribbed wooden grip (chipped). Basically GC (blade edge nicked, dark rust patina overall)
A 1796 pattern light cavalry trooper’s sword, broad, curved, shallow fullered blade 33”, with stamp at forte, regulation steel stirrup hilt with langets, plain pommel and backstrap with ears, ribbed leather grip, in its steel scabbard marked “Woolley Deakin & Dutton” (title used 1808-12) with 2 hanging rings.
