Pegasus Bridge D-Day Veterans Signed Cover Collection. Six of the 1989 Pegasus Bridge 45th Anniversary of D-Day covers produced by Cambridge Stamp Centre. Covers all feature a lovely illustration of Café Gondree, each individually signed. Includes Major John Howard, Colonel David Wood (24 Platoon), Cpl Thomas Packwood (glider), Private Edward Noble (No 2 glider), Cpl W R Howard and General Sir Nigel Poatt DSO.
A collection of thirteen Royal Worcester porcelain cabinet pieces, to include miniature cup painted with fruit, signed "T. Lockyer" with puce back stamp, miniature saucer painted with fruit, signed "E. Townsend" with puce back stamp, miniature cup painted with fruit, signed "W. Hart" with puce back stamp, small shallow dish painted with fruit, indistinctly signed, with black back stamp, miniature cup and saucer painted with blackberries, the cup signed "K. Blaka" and each with puce back stamp, a cabinet plate painted with fruit, signed "Sibley-Lewis" with black back stamp, a shaped oval sweetmeat dish painted with fruit, signed "E. Townsend" with puce back stamp, a small trinket dish painted with fruit, signed "N. Ayrton" with puce back stamp, a pair of small circular plaques framed as one, each painted with fruit, one signed "W. Bee" and the other signed "Ricketts", each with puce back stamp, a small vase painted with pheasants, bearing green back stamp, and two modern printed pieces of Royal Worcester porcelain decorated with floral sprays (13) CONDITION REPORTS The Lockyer cup has hairline crack, frits to the edges. The Hart cup has a hairline crack and a chip. The blackberry decorated saucer has a hairline crack. The Townsend dish has several large cracks and several areas of gilding are very worn. The Ayrton trinket dish has had a sticky mat stuck to the bottom and remnants are present. the pair of plaques are mounted but appear to be OK when viewed through the glass, unable to ascertain whether there is any hidden damage. The vase has had its neck broken and reglued and vase is cracked and has considerable wear to gilding. All items have surface scratches, firing and painting blemishes, wear to gilding, dirt etc.
A Royal Crown Derby oval porcelain tray decorated in the Imari palette, bearing iron red back stamp, Royal Crown Derby miniature bowl, miniature saucer and miniature coffee pot, a miniature 19th Century Chinese porcelain bowl decorated in the famille rose palette on a brown ground, an Oriental porcelain miniature cup and saucer, a collection of nine Continental miniature porcelain figurines to include examples with anchor mark to base and crossed swords marks to base, a Continental porcelain jardinier decorated with flowers on a yellow ground and two modern trinket dishes CONDITION REPORTS Famille rose miniature bowl is broken in two and reglued, various cracks, handwritten label to base, firing faults. Oriental minature cup and saucer - cup is missing handle, hairline cracks. The saucer has two large chips plus hairline cracks, losses to enamel on both pieces. There are significant losses to all except two of the figures - the gentleman with dog and and courting couple - but they do have some minor chips and knocks. The figure of the goat the young boy has a blue enamelled button attached to the top which looks to be applied/glued. All other figures have hands, fingers, heads, etc broken off, as well as various chips. All items have general wear and tear to include surface scratches, wear to the gilding and paintwork, and dirt. The violin in the photographs which is with the lady in blue actually belongs to the boy in the pink hat. Please note that there are nine figurines (not 10)
A small collection of Clarice Cliff ceramics comprising a "Bizarre" hand painted crocus bowl with black "Bizarre Newport Pottery" stamp to base, diameter 20.5cm, a "Waterlily" bowl with green "Clarice Cliff Newport Pottery" stamp to base, length 22cm, a "Celtic Harvest" preserve pot for Newport Pottery, a some striped wares for Wilkinson, and a printed "Wild Beauty" pattern plate and bowl for Royal Staffordshire Ceramics and Newport Pottery (9). CONDITION REPORT: The large crocus bowl has crazing to the glaze, hairline cracks to the base, some abrasions and rubbing to the paint with minor paint loss, flowering dints to inside of bowl. The Waterlily bowl has very minor abrasions to the paint, some surface dirt. The Celtic Harvest pot has minor crazing to glaze, very little rubbing to paint. The striped soup bowl has restoration to both handles with cracks visible, small restoration to rim, abrasions inside commensurate with use, surface dirt. The two striped saucers have minor abrasions commensurate with use, and minor crazing to glaze,. The brown and blue striped cup has surface dirt, some minor abrasions, possible restoration to the upper handle. The two Wild Beauty items have residue of a sticky label, surface abrasions commensurate with use and surface dirt, some rubbing to the print. The dish has firing spots underneath. The plate has small chip to rim.
A Royal Doulton figure; HN1295 "A Jester" with stamp mark and painted puce description to base, painted CJ Noke, a Royal Doulton twin handled gilt heightened globular vase decorated with a singing lute player, a Royal Crown Derby figure of a woman with a basket, with puce mark to base for date 1932 and two unmarked Toby jugs (5). CONDITION REPORT: Jester: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration. Vase: minor surface scratches and some tiny areas of flaking to the paint. Royal Crown Derby figure: chip to the base. Toby jugs: surface wear, crazing throughout.
A late 19th/early 20th century Belleek white and pink tinted porcelain tea set comprising a shaped circular teapot with crimped edges and rope twist decorated handle, four cups, three saucers and a cream jug. CONDITION REPORT: Black back stamp. Teapot spout has a 1mm x 1mm rim chip, otherwise the set is in good condition.
A Mintons Secessionist jardinière of tapering form with wavy heart shaped flower borders and stylised floral motifs between, on a turquoise ground, with Mintons Ltd stamp to base, registered no. "616446" and impressed no.3811 to base, height 21.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally good condition. fine crazing throughout. Some small nibbles to rim base.
