Jack the Ripper interest - Photograph with inscription purporting to be from the Ripper, the sepia photograph of an unidentified seated gentleman, the reverse with stamp mark for the photographer Mr Arthur Langton of Euston Road, and date 15 Dec '86. The scrawled note in blue crayon or similar reads 'I must find a cure for that dreadful disease in (Whitechapel), and will keep my knife nice and sharp, will strike again when time is right, perhaps in New Year'. Provenance: By descent from the vendor's late uncle who had a keen interest in the Jack the Ripper legend and read broadly around the subject, the previous origins of this lot are unknown but their family originated from the Whitechapel area of London. The present lot has been appraised by Ripper experts who consider it to be in all likelihood a fake but we leave it to bidders to reach their own conclusions

A 1965 Fender Jazzmaster electric guitar, serial number 'L7***9', of typical form in a three-tone sunburst finish with a tortoiseshell-effect pickguard, complete with original Fender hard-shell caseCondition ReportSigns of use throughtout with wear to the frets, with scratches, checks and knocks to the body. The guitar plays well overall. Some crackling to pots. The pickfuard is warped to the left side of the bridge. Images of the interior, pickups, and neck stamp have been uploaded. The front body contour appears slightly matted. All parts appear to us to be original. Intonation is okay, lower E needs adjusting.
