A LARGE ARCHIVE OF POSTCARDS AND LETTERS IN RELATION TO ADOLF HITLERS MEETING WITH NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN IN 1938, this archive includes some real photograph postcards showing Chamberlains arrival and his negotiations at Bad Godesberg in September 1938, one postcard has a quick productions and was posted to Luxembourg and another had a special meeting postmark, also included is an unusual Nuremberg Rally card, an Adolf Hitler birthday sheet on a cover to the UK, six envelopes addressed to Chamberlain that arrived from all over Europe after his talks with Hitler, there is also a copy of 'The People' dated 3rd September 1938, there is also two 'White papers', the first is the Henderson Report and the other is about the treatment of German nationals in Germany 1938-1939, one of the postcards features the historic meeting and has Chamberlain-Hitler on the reverse next to the date stamp, also included is a photocopy of the paper on which Chamberlain waved on his return to the UK, there are seventeen pieces in total and show an interesting insight to the famous meeting, this was previously sold at Cavendish Philatelic Auctions on 20th October 2000, as part of the George Crabb collection and was lot 385, Customers must satisfy themselves prior to sale in regards to conditions and authenticity, viewing is advised, condition reports are available on request

Delgado Guerra (Josef) Tauromaquia o arte de torear á cabello y á pie, second edition, 30 engraved plates after Ascenio Julia coloured by a contemporary hand, a crisp, clean copy, ink stamp and small book-label to endpapers, contemporary calf, gilt, rubbed, worming to foot of spine, patch of abrasion to head of upper cover, [Bobins 1397], 8vo, Madrid, Venga y compañía, 1804.⁂ The second, substantially enlarged edition of this celebrated work on bullfighting. The first edition included only half of the present text as well as two, uncoloured, plates. Delgado Guerra (1754-1801) was one of the most prominent bullfighters in Spain until his death in the ring, an event immortalised by Goya in his series of bullfighting scenes published as La Tauromaquia in 1801. Ascenio Julia was a friend and disciple of Goya's. ⁂ Provenance: Denver Art Museum (ink stamps); Charles Bayly, Jr. (book-label).

Alken (Henry) The Right Sort, 6 fine hand-coloured lithograph plates by Hullmandel after Alken, interleaved with blank Whatman paper of the same date, modern green half morocco with green morocco label to upper cover, cloth slip-case, [Schwerdt III, p.83; Siltzer p.59; Bobins 1388], oblong folio, S. and J. Fuller, 1821-22.⁂ The Schwerdt-Spitz copy of this rare early series, issued without a title-page and which Schwerdt says was "One of the author's favourites". Few Alken prints are lithographic, and these have strikingly fresh colouring. Provenance: I.C.F.G.R. Schwerdt (bookplate and gilt monogram at foot of spine); Joel Spitz (bookplate and small ink stamp on verso of final plate).

The Bobins catalogue mis-spells the artist's name as 'Ousi'.

Only one appearance at auction (2000).Provenance: Wilhelm Friedrich Ludwig, Freiherr von Warthausen (ink stamp on inside of upper wrapper and on verso of each plate, sometimes with show-through into lower margin)

Schleich, 1799.⁂ An extremely rare collection on the Russian Army, including regimental uniforms from the Lukashin Cuirassiers, Dragoons, Hussars, Baranovksy Tartars, Don and Ural Cossacks, as seen in Augsburg in 1799. Provenance: Baron de Noirmont [1816-1896; bookplate], an artist specialising in military subjects, publishing his Costumes Militaires Français [c. 1830-60].

A rare Blanchard stoneware sundialcirca 1860 with makers stamp 126cm high overall See engravingMark Henry Blanchard served his apprenticeship with the Coade Company and around 1839 established his own manufactory in London. It is believed that in 1883 he moved his workshops to Bishops Waltham, to be nearer to the source of clay that he used. By the middle of the century he had emerged as one of the leading manufacturer of terracotta in Britain and was awarded prizes for his exhibit at the Great Exhibition of 1851.
