A group of six vesta cases, comprising; two late Victorian silver vesta cases with engraved decoration, Birmingham 1899 and 1901, a base metal gambling dice vesta, a plated novelty vesta/stamp holder formed as a book, a plated vesta with embossed scene of three merry-making men, and an Oriental (probably Japanese) mixed metal vesta engraved with a bird atop a fence and branches (6).
A Third Reich “Hermann Meyer” type Luftwaffe tropical peaked cap as worn by the Afrika Korps, of pale buff twill with wool embroidered cloth eagle and silver wire cockade and wings, matching twill chinstrap and neck flap secured by 3 grey metal buttons, the red lining with indistinct circular ink stamp having eagle in the centre. GC (squashed flat).
A 16 bore military style flintlock cavalry carbine, 37” overall, barrel 21”, secured by 2 flat wedges, with short octagonal section at the breech; the large flat trade quality lock with ring neck cock and small stamp “-& G”, the walnut fullstock having plain brass mounts including trigger guard with spur grip, and showing signs of having had a saddle bar; with swivel ramrod. GWO & basically GC (the stock worn, the lock and barrel deeply pitted overall)
An 1853 pattern cavalry trooper’s sword, slightly curved fullered blade 34½”, with Solingen knight’s head mark on one side at forte and crown/7 inspector’s stamp on the other, regulation steel hilt with side loop, knucklebow and 2 sidebars, diced leather grips. Basically GC (some wear and light pitting).
A late 18th century continental cavalry trooper’s sword, curved shallow fullered blade 33”, heavy steel stirrup hilt, large quillon and slender langets to slotted crossguard with small stamp “B11” (? unclear) underneath, plain knucklebow, very slightly forward sloping cap shaped pommel and plain backstrap, brass wirebound grip (AF at top), in scabbard with single ring (throat mount missing). A Spanish light cavalry trooper’s sword, similar to British 1821 pattern, slightly curved shallow fullered blade 30½” (slightly shortened) with clear Toledo armourer’s stamp at forte, steel hilt with sideloop and 2 sidebars, plain pommel and backstrap, wirebound leather grip. Basically GC (some wear overall)

A mixed group of white-glazed ceramic shaving mugs comprising: two with pink rose transfer motifs, stamped 'Made in Germany'; one with pink roses and blue flowers, concentric rings to the bowl, indistinct stamp; one with pink and yellow flowers, marked to the underside 'James Kent / Old Foley / Made in England'; one with floral motif, marked 'Foreign'. 1.6 kg, 14-15.5cm (5 1/2 - 6"). Dated 10 May 1893. A printed travel document issued by the British Consul at Lisbon, Portugal, with manuscript number 54 and details for the bearer, Miss Kate Leonard, a British Subject, going to England; bearing the British royal arms with a Consular Service adhesive duty stamp at five shillings rate, cancelled with a British Consulate ink stamp and two signatures; the reverse bearing a manuscript note dated 16 May 1893 in Portuguese, with two Portuguese adhesive duty stamps (one damaged) and inked cancellations. 7.0 grams, 37 x 28cm (14 1/2 x 11"). Travel documents such as this are the precursor of the modern passport and the wording is still of very similar form today; being issued for each journey by a Consulate in each country rather than centrally for an extended time period, they do not often survive. Fine condition; paper browned, old folds. [No Reserve]
