Key damaged therefore not able to unlock the chest. 124 .2 cm H x 65.8 cm W x 50.2 cm D Condition Report: probably signed by somebody note worthy - take your pickit needs some veneer work but only on top right where lifted slightly and small section missing, small section missing to left Wellington side about half way down otherwise both sides and front are good with only a clean dust and polish neededwhilst there is a key , half of the workings have snapped off in the lockas I cannot open it due to the above I cannot see the stamp to the drawer however it smacks of real quality and is so likely to be signed

Munitions.- Ministry of Munitions Department of Explosive Supply. Preliminary Studies for H.M. Factory, Gretna and Study for an installation of Phosgene Manufacture, edited by William Macnab, 24 folding plans and diagrams, ink ownership stamp of Kenneth B. Quinan to front pastedown, very occasional light spotting, endpapers lightly foxed and browned, original cloth-backed boards, spine lightly sunned, faint scratch to lower cover, extremities bumped and a little rubbed, particularly fore-edge of lower cover, HMSO, [c.1920].⁂ Kenneth B. Quinan (1878-1948), American-born chemical engineer who contributed to the British war effort in World War I with the design and building of several explosives factories, including the enormous factory at Gretna, which covered 9000 acres. Quinan was made a Companion of Honour, declining the knighthood offered on the basis of his US citizenship, and given the Croix de Guerre. David Lloyd George publicly thanked him in the House of Commons, saying "It would be hard to point to anyone who did more to win the war than Kenneth Bingham Quinan".

An unusual 19th century gold prospectors brooch in the form of a stamp mill machine. The bar brooch applied with the stamp mill, flanked to the ends with gold nuggets, width 41mm, 5.20g. Prospector brooches were brought back to Cornwall with Cornish miners after working in Australia and South Africa.
