1942 Landfall £1 ordinary paper corner block of eight from left pane with sheet number 019, R2/6 with the rare variety from late in the printing, broken 'OF' (we believe that the state with broken 'US' does not occur on the £1). Unmounted o.g. with some toning on reverse, which barely affects the variety stamp. Slight marginal separation but a very rare block, recorded sheet numbers running from 014-029, cat £1160
1953 flown manilla envelope to Cape Town with 6d, 1/- x 2 and April 52 5/- paying 1½oz rate to South Africa, HAMILTON CDSs of 12 JUN 53. Some creasing, affecting the 5/-, which also has some marks at top left; part of backflap missing. Nonetheless a very good rate cover, featuring this final printing of the 5/-, a rare stamp on cover; illustrated on page 121 of Eric Yendall's book

1935 Silver Jubilee 1½d ultramarine and grey-black, lower left corner block of 4, the upper left stamp with "Extra flagstaff" variety (SG 115/115a), a hint of toning, u/m (hinged in margin), also single 6d green and indigo with same variety (SG 116a), this lightly hinged and some small faults, cat £290
1886-87 two covers from St Johns to Birmingham, one ordinary post, franked 1880-82 5c pale dull blue tied by '235' numeral with St Johns cds alongside for NO 24 86, the other registered, 15c rate paid by three of same stamp tied by similar cancels and one by Liverpool transit cds for 19 MY 87, the St Johns cds for MY 11 87, former fine appearance but back flap missing and torn elsewhere, latter damaged at upper left, back flap missing, tones and creasing, not unattractive despite faults
1949 2d + 1d Health original artwork, as issued but with design reversed, by James Berry; 127 x 221mm in pencil on paper, mounted on board and framed. A copy of Berry's submission notes attached to the back of the frame suggests the the stamp be issued in dark blue, similar to the GB 1948 Wedding 2½d
