A 9 carat rose metal fancy double albert watch chain, alternating groups of faceted belcher links and double bar crimped links, fitted with a T bar and two swivels, overall length 37cm, pad stamp marked 9ct, 9 carat rose gold swivel fob attached with oval bloodstone to one side and cornelion to other, hallmarked Birmingham 1920, approximate weight of albert alone 23gms.

Fox, thanking her for the kindness she had shown to his children during a trip to Cornwall and remarking 'I should like to know what you made of Arthur who is a character & one which much puzzles his mother & myself…..we have given in to his desire to turn philosopher, & to spend his life in the pursuit of what I suppose this generation calls culture. We have only insisted that he shall first pass his examinations…..he is really a diligent student, though in fields where I fear he can only gather thistles & the like….') and Charles Kingsley (2; one on A.L.S., three pages, 8vo, Eversley, 1st November 1850, to a gentleman, stating, in part, 'I shall….consider it a great honour to have any poetry of mine set to music by the composer of the Captive Knights, & I beg you will transmit any permission necessary….I have recd. the Record this morning “Whose blame in praise” I assure you I am as thick skinned as the hippotamus in the Regents Park. I did not write Alton Locke without counting the cost of all this - & besides, you know, it saves advertisements - wh. save money', and the other an unrelated autograph envelope signed by Kingsley, addressed in his hand to the hymnologist Rev. T[homas]. V[incent]. Fosbery at Reading, bearing a Penny Red postage stamp and postmarked November 1864). A good group of letters etc. with interesting content and associations. Painted by Albert Gregory with panels of flowers framed within elaborately moulded gilt borders incorporating a G. monogram by George Darlington on gros bleu and turquoise grounds. Signed by both artists, printed mark in gilt with Royal Warrant and Tiffany & Co retailers stamp, date code for 1910 on the ramekin 1911 on the stand, stand 12.25cm wide. Condition report intended as a guide only.Very small flat chip under the rim of the stand. No further damage and free from repair. Enamels and gilt free from scratching and wear.
