***RFD BUYERS ONLY***JOHN MANTON & SON; a 16 bore side-by-side double trigger non-ejector hammer gun, the 28.5" barrels with 2.5" chambers set with a smooth concave rib bearing the maker's details, the action further inscribed with the maker's name within foliate scrolling borders, the flats stamped H.Akrill, maker Beverley and further Patent Vertical Wedge, no. AC91, and mounted on a checkered walnut stock set with an oval poncoin to the underside, overall length 113cm, SN:NVN (af).Additional InformationAlthough the barrels bear and nitro proof stamp they are indeed out of proof, hence the RFD buyers only status, the Damascus barrels are worn and scuffed with minor pitting visible, internally rather clean with only a few minor dents visible, the action is tight with no signs of head wobble, the checkering on the stock is worn from use with further scuffs, scrapes, nicks, etc, throughout, the fore end has a small fracture at the back on the underside of the barrels and there is a chip on the lower section of the butt which has been crudely pinned back on with further minor scuffs, scrapes, etc, throughout commensurate with use and age, the left barrel muzzle has a dint to the upper portion and the barrels are choked at three quarters and three quarters and the length of pull is 13 5/8. Serial number 10421.

GENE FENN (1911-2001)Born in the USA, he studied photography and painting at Copper Uni onin New York and in 1930, assisted Louise Dahl-Wolfe, photography for Harper's Bazaar. In 1949, he moved to Paris and studied painting under Fernand Léger and André Lhote, before becoming part of the artistic movement of the era. He met and photographed many famous artists including Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró and Man Ray.
