Holocaust.- Schiet (Jan) Tentoonstelling van Fotografische Opnamen van Duitse Concentratiekampen en Verwoest Arnhem, illustrations, text in Dutch, lightly browned, ex-library with ink-stamp inside upper cover, original paper wrappers, detached, neat tape repair to spine verso, remnants of old tape to spine, lightly sunned, 12mo, [Amsterdam], [?1945].⁂ Rare. A pamphlet produced almost immediately post-war for an exhibition of photographs of German Concentration Camps and destroyed Arnhem. This includes the famous and controversial photograph of the Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel in Buchenweld, which was first published in the 'New York Times.' It does not include any images of Arnhem. We can only assume that images of Arnhem were only shown in the exhibition itself. In the immediate aftermath of the War exhibitions of photos showing the horrors of Concentration Camps were a way to show the people of Europe what had been done by the Nazis. It also eventually built enough support for the War Crimes trials.
