The collection includes 1894 Dowager 9ca. unused, some C.I.P. and Republic overprint values, 1909 Hsuan Tung set mint and used on special presentation card, 1912 commemoratives with both issues unused values to 20c., an attractive section of Junk issues with London print values to 30c. (5) mint, Sun Yat Sen issues, Martyrs with mint imprint blocks, Air issues, 1938-41Chung Hwa and Dah Tung printings; 1942-43 Provincial Surcharges including resurcharges with some multiples including Anhwei, Honan and Hupei blocks of four, Yunnan strip of three, East Szechwan (2), 50c. surcharges including East Szechwan in a lower right corner block of eight, a useful range of 20c. surcharges with some blocks of four, later Sun Yat Sen issues; C.N.C. surcharges with some multiples mint and used, revalue surcharges and others; Provincials with North-East and others; Gold Yuan showing different colours and papers, a few varieties followed by a fine collection of the surcharges on the transport issues with several blocks, including corner blocks with the different printers, some varieties including imperf. between stamp and margin. A very clean and attractive collection; the skillful and detailed writing up means that this would make an ideal study collection for further development. Viewing is highly recommended
TibetPre-Stamp Covers1848 (15 Nov.) Amban cover sent by S.H. Tuchang Tathin and Sri Chhutatarin Amban, addressed to Surendra Bikram Shav Dev, the King of Nepal; notation on reverse, "After the arrival of Kazis at Lhasa we will give the letter sent by Aphuwang, keeping it here for some days, we will dispatch to Kerong, Surat Sing, Letter no.13". (1.10), "pekin/corres ces aux armees" (14.10) with handstruck "Affranchissement au verso/Frankatur siche Rüchseite", also Shanghai and Peking bilingual c.d.s. Fine and attractive. Photo
Hong Kong Treaty PortsShanghai1871 (13 Jan.) envelope to Dunbartonshire, Scotland bearing 1863-71 4c. bluish slate perf.12½ (2) and 30c. vermilion just tied by good strikes of the second type "S1" in blue, the reverse with despatch c.d.s. in blue, Hong Kong (23.1) and Helensburgh (6.3) c.d.s.; the left 4c. has an irregular perf. in the upper left corner, probably the result of a broken perf. pin which can be seen in the lower left corner. The routing has been obscured by the adhesives but this 38c. rates should be by Brindisi due to the Franco-Prussian War; just before the rate was reduced on 16th January. An extraordinary and remarkable franking, of nine covers bearing the perf.12½ stamp, this is one of only two bearing two examples. R.P.S. Certificate (1997). Photo

White terrier with small chips to ears and some frits to edges, crazing to glaze. Spaniel with small chip to one foot, some roughness to edges of feet. Menu holder with wear and crazing, and with hairline cracks.
