A Brass Striking and Repeating Alarm Carriage Clock, stamped for A Margaine, retailed by Howell James & Co, Paris, circa 1890, carrying handle and repeat button, enamel Roman numeral dial, alarm dial, twin barrel movement with a platform lever escapement, striking on a gong, movement backplate with maker's stamp mark AM for Margaine and numbered 4466, 16cm high over handle, with fitting travelling case 03.09.18, Brass surfaces are discoloured and with scratches, dial with hairline cracks and one chip to the top edge, platform is discoloured, movement is dirty, movement is winding smoothly, strike and repeat are working, in going order, travelling case is worn.
