A German 6 shot 9mm brass framed Lefaucheux type double action pinfire revolver, by B. Ebbeke, Herzberg, c 1865, octagonal barrel 120mm (4¾”), with simple brass line inlay at the breech, and also on the cylinder, which bears “EB” maker’s stamp, the brass frame and trigger guard engraved with scrolls and vines, and at the top of the grip strap “B. EBBEKE, HERZBERG”, with ejector rod on the right, bag shaped butt, with plain ivory grips, and lanyard ring. GWO & Clean Condition, the engraving sharp. Plate 36 £300-350.
A Belgian 6 shot 12mm Julien solid frame double action pinfire revolver, c 1867, round barrel 155mm (6-1/8"), with raised rib on which the top frame strap and integral loading gate hinge upwards, the breech stamped “BREVETE, J. JULIEN” over traces of a previous different stamp, the rib engraved in gothic script “Bertonnet Calle San Martin No 50 a Buenos-Ayres”, the frame and cylinder engraved overall with floral panels, the ebony grips deeply carved with vine leaves and tendrils, and with lanyard ring. Good Working Order and Condition, retaining traces of original blued finish (traces of old splits in grips); contained in its close fitted velvet lined mahogany case, with brass escutcheon, containing a brass mounted ebony cleaning rod, ebony turnscrew handle (no blade), pewter oil bottle, compartment with tray for cartridges, and key to the case.
