The cutting edge is 69cm and the length of the saya is 76cm.

George Frederic Watts, RA (1817-1904) Head study of Violet Lindsay (1856-1937) aged 23, later Duchess of Rutlandoil on canvas51 x 41cmProvenance:According to a label affixed to the reverse - Chapman Collection;Sotheby's, London, 3rd November 1993, lot 229, when acquired by the late Barry Lock (1934-2021)The present lot is a study for the portrait of Violet Lindsay which is now in the Watts Gallery, Guildford. Violet sat to Watts in 1879, aged only 23, prior to her marriage in 1882 to Henry Manners, later Marquess of Granby and subsequently, from 1906, 8th Duke of Rutland. She was a member of the intellectual circle known as the Souls and an artist in her own right.This is one of a number of studies that Watts made for his portrait of the sitter of 1879. The painting is executed in oil on a canvas support which has not been lined and has a supplier’s stamp for Winsor and Newton on the reverse. The canvas tension is slightly slack and minor undulations are present at the top and bottom edges. The paint layers are in a good, stable condition overall. The varnish layer has yellowed with age and is brittle with scuffs and scratches across the surface.
John Adamson (1865-1918) Portrait of a girl; and Portrait of a boy - each standing full-length in a gardenboth signed 'John Adamson' (lower right)oil on canvas121 x 80cm, a pairThe artist, John Adamson, studied at the Royal Academy in London, where he started exhibiting portraits and genre compositions from 1890. The Royal Museum of Scotland held an exhibition of his works in Edinburgh in 2002.Both pictures are executed in oil on linen canvas supports which are unlined and have the supplier stamp for Newman of Soho on the reverse. The dimensions of both paintings have been altered during the painting process with the original tacking edges folded over the reverse of the stretchers. The canvas tension of both portraits is poor with undulations across the surface, emphasised by dust collecting on the front surface. There are small tears and punctures at the edges of both pictures caused by impact from the front. Overall, the paint layers are in a good condition. There are losses surrounding the tears. The varnish layers are in a poor condition being very dull and yellowed; they have also been affected by moisture with white drip marks evident. There are thick layers of dust across the surface.

As well as now being placed on an associated Charles II silvered stand, the cabinet has also had its hinges and escutcheon plate replaced since the sale in 1921. Archduke Ludwig Viktor of Austria (1842-1919) was the youngest child of Archduke Franz Karl of Austria and, unlike his siblings, favoured artistic endeavours over a career in politics. He was well-known for his art collection and patronage. After his death, his collection was sold at auction between 1921 and 1922. The auction, held at Dorotheum in Vienna, lasted more than 54 days with over 7,000 lots available.Schloss Klessheim is a Baroque palace located in Wals-Siezenheim, near Salzburg, Austria. The palace was designed and constructed by Austrian architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach for Prince-Archbishop Johann Ernst von Thun in 1700. After Salzburg's secularisation in 1803, Schloss Klessheim went to the Austrian House of Habsburg-Lorraine. A GERMAN LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS DRESS DAGGER, it comes complete with its scabbard hanger and portepee, the blade has the makers mark E&F horsters Solingen inside an oval stamp and the words around the outside, the blade has some surface marks but no damage, the chrome on the bottom of the scabbard is starting to wear off, the hanger is marked Ges Gesch & OLC in a diamond, the dagger has a bound gript with a plain cross guard and features a gold coloured Swastika on it and on top of the grip, the portepee has got very minor damage and has started to fray in one area, Customers must satisfy themselves prior to sale in regards to conditions and authenticity, viewing is advised, condition reports are available on request

A 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry non-commissioned Ranks Sabre and Scabbard, circa 1808, of regulation specifications throughout, the blade with Ordnance inspector’s stamp and the cutler’s stamped signature ‘Woolley, Deakin …’, the hilt retaining its original leather-covered wooden grip and the scabbard stamped with the cutlers’ signature ‘Woolley, Deakin, Dutton’ (In untouched oxidised condition, the cutlers’ signature on the blade apparently incomplete, the grip with light worm damage), blade length 84cm
