Entertainment, Margaret Rutherford (1892-1972), English Character Actresses from Stage, Television & Film, a postcard size b/w portrait press photo with photographers stamp to back, signed in blue ink (gd) (1). Lots 1088 to 1137 have been consigned by a relative of a private collector who is now deceased. They form the first part of a vast collection of signatures amassed over 50+ years of collecting which we will be selling in this and future auctions. Many signatures were gained in person from boyhood days at sports venues, theatres & other locations and continued through to later years with auction purchases and exchanges of correspondence. AN AQUAMARINE AND DIAMOND CLUSTER RING LONDON 1978 The marquise cut aquamarine within a surround of brilliant cut diamonds, approximately 0.48 carats total, to a polished 18 carat gold shank with H.LTD. maker's mark and partial stamp G158 Size/dimensions: cluster 1.6cm long, finger size J 1/2 Gross weight: 3.8 grams Condition Report: The diamonds are all present and correct, bright and lively. The Aquamarine is bright, it has a couple of small surface reaching inclusions that look a little like scratches across the table, a few small nicks/nibbles to the facet edges, only noticeable with a 10x loupe. Some light wear to the 18 carat white gold setting, the claws are all in good order. The setting has been rhodium plated, and some off the plating is coming off showing a pale slightly gold tone at the back of the shank. Condition Report Disclaimer

Signed YAMAZAKI ICHIGA.HEIGHT 3.8 cmWEIGHT 22.8 gCondition: Very good condition with minor wear and a small dent.With a fitted tomobako storage box inscribed on the reverse of the lid naming the artist, and signed by the collector Zaiya, a name used by Torigoe Kazutaro, dated 1967. Torigoe Kazutaro was an expert of Japanese swords, writing several books on swords and sword fittings in the 1960s and 1970s. Since his death, his large collection of swords and sword fittings have spread far and wide, easily recognizable by the inscribed tomobako boxes bearing his red-stamp seal.The artist is listed in the Haynes Index of Japanese Sword Fittings and Associated Artists on p. 348 (H 01671.0). Ichiga was the student of Goto Jujo, often signing his name Sosho.

An Iron Cross First Class 1939 in its Late War LDO Presentation Case. The Iron Cross is probably an earlier War production, the pin stamped ‘L/52’ [C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim], probably unissued. The case is of smaller dimensions than the standard Iron Cross First Class one, and is covered in black paper artificial leather, without a silver outline of the Cross printed on the flat lid. Inside it is lined on the lower section in cream felt, and white artificial silk printed with the LDO logo in the top section. Inside there is also an LDO printed slip, on the back of which is a L/54 stamp and the date ‘Sep.1943’, both printed in blue, good very fine and a scarce casing, especially with the LDO slip still inside £260-£300
