POSTAL HISTORY COVER : PERU, 1872 envelope from Callao, Peru to Leeds, England. Franked with a Peru 1d green imperf issue and two GB QV 9d straw (plate 4) stamps & cancelled with three "C38" duplex postmarks. Has a Leeds arrival backstamp. Peru stamp has a slight rub & the envelope has a few minor faults etc. A rare item!
POSTAL HISTORY AIRMAIL : CHINA, Manchukuo (Japanese control), Dec 1941 cover addressed to Leeds, England & franked with 20f Manchukuo stamp with Japanese cachet. The reverse has German & British censor tape together with a boxed Japanese violet cachet. Cover carried via Siberia, Germany & Sweden.

Operation Manna Souvenir Folder, produced by Lincolns Lancaster Association. This charming little souvenir folder commemorates the 70th Anniversary of Operation Manna which took place in May and June 1945. Operation Manna was Bomber Commands task to drop food to the population of the Netherlands who were starving under the German occupation. 251 folders, all individually numbered have been produced giving brief details of the event. The folders have been made to hold various inserts 20 years ago the Netherlands Post office produced a special postage stamp for the Anniversary. Enquiries were made, and it was discovered that a special stamp was not going to be issued this year, so The Lancaster Association commissioned them to make a special stamp, A sample of each stamp is enclosed in each folder. Also included are 8 reproduced photographs taken at the time of the food drops. Brief location details are printed on the back of each card. A card is included which has been signed by a Veteran who flew on 3 Manna missions. A card is included which was flown in the Lancaster over the drop sites which has been signed by the pilot Flt Lt Roger Nichols RAF. This was flown just a few days before the aircraft was grounded following an engine fire. Finally, a colour photo is enclosed of the Lancaster passing over one of the drop sites. Good condition. HMS HOOD: Cover dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the launching of HMS Hood, with matching 85th anniversary BFPO 2752 postmark dated 23 August 2003 with the ships crest inset and used by kind permission of the current Lord Hood, the stamp affixed is a 1st Class stamp. This has been signed by Ted Briggs, who at the time of signing was the last living survivor of the sinking of Hood by the Bismarck and this cover comes with an insert written by him. Good condition. The Madeleine Selfe picture has some discolouration and fading, perhaps slightly yellowed. Mount with some bowing. The Sheep in Paddock picture slipped in mount, some discolouration, fading. Lionel Edwards print is very yellowed and discoloured, some browning and yellowing. All pictures show various general signs of wear and tear throughout

A 1960's Danish Brazilian rosewood and crossbanded trunk, the lid opening to reveal two detachable trays over storage, Danish Control Stamp, w. 80 cm, together with a 1960's rosewood stool by Spottrup CONDITION REPORT: Structurally sound but heavy discolouration to the exterior of the trunk. Stool requires reupholstery but joints sound. CITES Transaction Specific Ref: 565207/01
