An 18th / 19th century icon of Saint Ignatiusoil on wooden panel, dressed in black, white and dark blue robes, on a brown ground, inscribed in gilt to top margin, later inscribed in ink verso, 4 x 3 1/8in. (10.2 x 7.9cm.), in aged gilt frame with purple Russian ink stamp verso.*Condition:Some small scattered retouches visible under UV. One a little larger to lower left at bottom of robe. Crack to surface of panel visible to left hand margin - there is a correspnding knot to the wood verso. Not examined out of frame.

D.F.M., 1939-45 Star France and Germany clasp, air crew Europe Star, War and Defence medals, plus two dog tags to 1609983 Flight Sergeant (later flight LTN) Douglas Robert Alexander R.A.F. to include much ephemera press cuttings and Newspapers announcing him D.F.M. his flying log book with twenty eight bombing sorties in Halifax and Lancasters listed including some with enemy contact. A quantity of wartime photographs with many of him and his crewmates, two silk maps,drawings signed D.R. Alexander and small stamp albums.With this group is a WWI pair to his Father 1608 S.O. Alexander Hamps Yeo plus WWII Defence Medal and a public schools sports medal to S.O. Alexander and pair of WWI miniatures.A third single medal :- Territorial Force War Medal 1914 - 1919 to 340 Pte R.H. Baker Hamps Res plus medal ribbon indicating the entitlement to the WWI medal and the India General Service medal.A photograph of the grave of 204933 Flight Cadet D.G. Alexander Hant Reg, attended RAF 20 training wing 8-10-18. Condition report: overall condition is consistent with age. Papers and photographs have some wear consistent with age. Newspapers have some scattered foxing throughout. Medals in good condition overall.
