A Victorian Tunbridge ware and macassar ebony desk-stand attributed to Thomas Barton, with a turned ebony handle flanked by a pair of lidded cylindrical containers and two stamp boxes, with a central watch stand, pen tray, an ivory match stand and a metal striker, on bun feet, 5in (12.7cm) high, 8Ύin (21.8cm) wide, 5Ύin (14.5cm) deep.
A Staunton pattern boxwood and ebony chess set by Jaques & Son, the white king stamped `JAQUES LONDON`, with red crown marks to two knights and one rook, one rook with a plain stamp, weighted bases, the king: 4½in (11cm) high, the pawn: 2Όin (5.5cm) high, in a mahogany baize lined box with green trade label inscribed `THE Staunton Chessmen, TWO PRIZE MEDALS AWARDED, H. (23.5cm.) long, all with `66th The Berkshire` regimental crests and blue & gilt line rims; together with a Spode `Royal Berkshire Regt.` dinner plate centred with the regimental crest, factory mark and `T. A Steinway rosewood cased Model O boudoir grand piano c.1924, the frame numbered 201384, with ivory keys, on square tapered legs and brass castors, gilt retailer`s stamp for `Dale Forty & Co. Ltd.` to edge of lid, 71in. (180cm.) long, 57¾in. (146.5cm.) wide, together with a buttoned leather adjustable piano stool. (2)
Royal interest - A 1969 Remploy Prince of Wales Investiture chair in Vermilion stained beech and plywood, the square back with gilt Prince of Wales feather crest, over a red square cushioned seat and deep bar arms, on square legs, 30½in. (77.5cm.) high, 21¼in. (54cm.) wide, maker`s trefoil stamp and date `1969` to base of seat. * This chair was used by the invited guests to the Prince of Wales Investiture at Caernarfon Castle 1st July 1969.
After Archibald Thorburn (1860-1935) Studies of Prey A set of twelve coloured prints, each signed in pencil, with blind stamp, published 1919 by A. Baird Carter each 29 x 20.5cm (12) * Provenance - With The Moorland Gallery, Cork Street, London *Notes - Published by A Baird Carter.The set of 11 published in 1919 (9 7/8 in x 6 5/8 in). `Gyr Falcon` published as a single print in 1913 (10in x 7 ¼in). There was only one set of twelve birds of prey published in 1919 by A Baird Carter, 70 Jermyn St., London. However, this set is so rare that if a plate went missing it would be impossible to find a replacement. This is why the `Gyr Falcon` has been used to fill the gap.
