This image of a school mistress leading children across the road was published in Picture Post, issue 8223, 'Teachers In Revolt', 4th February 1956.
Pair of Ernst Wahliss double gourd vases with Art Nouveau style decoration of flowers. Highlighted with gilt, Vienna, turn shield stamp. 27cm highVases are in very good condition. No sign of damages, chips, cracks or repairs. Two flowers seem to have white instead of the colour but it appears to be from the firing process (see additional images).

TRANSOCEAN NEWS SERVICE, Portrait of Professor Carl von Eicken, Berlin, 1936 or earlier, framed gelatin silver portrait of Prof. von Eicken (1873-1960), surgeon to Adolf Hitler, Transocean blind stamp, Eicken signature and inscription in ink recto, some metallic tarnishing of black background, notes pasted frame verso detailing receipt of the framed photo in 1936, image 8.5cm x 13cm, frame 17cm x 24cm. Note: Hitler had polyps from his vocal cords removed by Prof. von Eickenin 1935 and again in 1944. The Transocean News Agency became an organ of Nazi propaganda after 1933. There are additional biographical notes with this lot.
JAQUES-ENREST BULLOZ (1858-1942) and others, Large Lantern Slides of Rodin Sculptures, French, c.1900, 10 lantern slides, 9 showing Rodin sculptures, one depicting a figure by Dalou, each 8cm x 10 cm, mostly by Paris photographer J E Bulloz, who was accredited by Auguste Rodin to document his work, each slide titled by the photographer or with RM (Rodin Museum) stamp. Condition Report: One slide cracked, others good.
PHILIPPE HALSMAN, Winston Churchill at Chartwell, gelatin silver print of Sir Winston Churchill at Chartwell in 1951, printed later, c.1980, stamp verso 'The Toni Parks (UK) Collection' in ink 'No. 29', image 26.8cm x 34cm, in cream mount 50cm x 70cm. Provenance: Gordon Parks Collection, Toni Parks Collection. Note: In Halsman's Sight and Insight, he describes the difficulty of the photo shoot, with Churchill avoiding him, the back view was taken out of desperation but turned out to be the most successful photograph. An example of this image is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
JAN SAUDEK (1935-) The Dolls 1975, vintage silver gelatin print on Kodak paper, printed c.1975-1984(?), image 18.8cm x18.8cm delineated in pen on sheet 25.4cm x 20.3cm. Note: This appears to be printed from the full 6 x 6 medium format frame used by Saudek, and differs from the later cropped version, all Saudeks negatives from this period were lost; with a handwritten and illustrated letter to 'Colin' describing a curious reverie, signed 'Jan' and with a date stamp 3 Jan 1984Note: The letter is almost certainly to Colin Osman, editor of Creative Camera. It is established that Jan Saudek was in correspondence with Colin Osman. The date stamp 3 Jan 1984 would presumably be when the letter was received at the Creative Camera office.
