British Union of Fascists BUFF Foreign Travel Department Archive Ephemera. An interesting and unusual selection of British travel guides of Germany Circa 1936/37. These including details for the 1936 Olympic Games Berlin 1936. At least 3 examples with the stamp of the British Union of Fascists Foreign Travel Department. Others with stamp for Pickfords Travel Service Clapham London. Overall GC ... Accompanied by a postcard of Sir Oswald Mosley The Leader. Damp damage to the card. (26 items)
Victorian Royal Marine Light Infantry Other Rank's Glengarry. A rare example retaining to the two part brass badge of the globe and laurel surmounted by a strung bugle. The glengarry of the early pattern with wide leather band and wax cotton lining. The latter with traces of issue stamp indicating Chatham detachment. Overall age wear, tails detached but one still present.
Army Ordnance Corps Other Ranks Home Service Pattern Helmet circa 1901-14. A good example of the 1878 regulation pattern. Complete with brass cross piece, spike, side rose bosses and chin chain. The interior with leather sweatband and various issue stamps WD 1904 and AOC issue stamp for July 1905. Overall GC the body retains a good shape, but please note restoration to the edging and leather backing of the chin chain. No Helmet Plate present.
WW1 4th Bn Seaforth Highlanders 1918 Doublet & Uniform. A rare example of the 1902 pattern khaki service dress doublet, worn by a Sergeant of the 4th Territorial Bn along with with his scarlet doublet and kilt. Comprising: 1902 Pattern Doublet. This is a regulation pattern, tailored with two pleats to the stand and fall collar. To each sleeve Sergeant chevrons, with a single cloth blue bar, the right sleeve with one red and two blue overseas chevrons. Complete with regimental shoulder title and buttons. The interior retaining part of the paper label with clear date 1918. Also with a faint pencil name. GC Clean condition. Scarlet Doublet Scarlet wool cloth, retaining all white metal, T/4 Seaforth shoulder titles, regimental collar badges and post 1902 General Service buttons. The interior with wool lining and issue stamp indicating October 1912. Scarlet fresh Kilt (One only) Of regimental tartan, the interior with pencil details D.M Sgt. Traces of paper issue label. Overall GC some service wear. Fly Plaid. Of Regimental tartan GC. Overall good clean condition. (4 items PLEASE NOTE ONLY ONE KILT)
WW2 RAF Escape and Evasion Playing Card Map with Provence. An extremely rare original Jack of Spades Playing card, the rear peels back to reveal a part map of Germany, formally belonging to Air Marshal Sir Charles Edward Chilton, KBE, CB. The plying card is accompanied by a had written card from the Air Marshal stating that this is his last card from a set which converts to a map of Germany. The letter card is dated 25th November 1979 and complete with the original envelope post stamp 27 November 1979. Air Marshal Sir Charles Edward Chilton, KBE, CB was commissioned into the RAF 1924 specialising as a Navigator. In 1943 he was Commanding RAF Chivenor and retired in 1962 having been Air Officer Commanding Coastal Command. He died in 1992.
