Con quattro tavole incise in rame fuori testo e tre tavole topografiche più volte ripiegate. Fregio inciso in rame al frontespizio del primo volume. Ritratto dell`Autore entro medaglione inciso da Antonio Baldi. Capilettera, testatine e finalini calcografici. Carte ossidate, alcune particolarmente brunite, diffusi aloni d`umido, strappi restaurati alle pp. 11-12 del primo volume. Legatura coeva in pergamena su cartone, titolo e numero di volume impressi in oro ai dorsi. Al frontespizio del primo volume nota di possesso di difficile lettura. (2) Platner., 87. Restauri marginali al frontespizio, strappi anticamente restaurati a qualche carta, bruniture diffuse, modesto esemplare. Legatura coeva in pergamena floscia rimontata. Timbro di antico possessore al frontespizio. Erudita opera del canonico Dionigi Guicciardi, comprendente le biografie dei principi che scelsero la `solitudine sacra` e divennero anacoreti. Il volume è arricchito dalle incisioni realizzate all`acquaforte dal modenese Angelo Maria Eschini, a cui si devono anche il frontespizio e l`antiporta. Saur allgemeines Künstlerlexikon 34, 569-570.
