1938 Calpurnia flight: Selection of four envelopes from England flown aboard the Imperial Airways Empire flying boat 'Calpurnia' in 1938, comprising two (one with stamp washed off) to New Zealand with 'RECEIVED IN DAMAGED CONDITION/EX FLYING BOAT CALPURNIA' h/s, one to Australia with boxed 'DAMAGED BY WATER/THROUGH ACCIDENT/TO FLYING BOAT' h/s, the other to a sailor aboard the "T.S.S. Moreton Bay c/o Aberdeen & Commonwealth Line", this with typed special note regarding the accident from the P.O. in Perth and returned to England (this unusual)
