The Advent of the Automatic Factory, first edition, ink ownership inscription and stamp to endpaper, original boards, some light foxing, light toning to head and foot, spine ends and corners a little bumped, dust-jacket, light toning, spine ends and corners chipped, a few very short closed tears and light creasing to head and foot, 8vo, New York, 1952.⁂ A rare and important work that originated many of the concepts around data processing and utilisation that are used today. Diebold is credited with coining the word 'automation' in its present meaning.
