An incredible cover with stamp and a letter from Dickens on his home stationary. Book is quarter bound in green leather with marbled boards and end papers. Original wrappers and advertisements from the serials are bound into the back of both volumes. Books match all of the first edition first state errors stated in Smith (106-110). Wilson Esq. The Suffolk Regt.' containing silk cover. Charles Spencer Wilson joined the Suffolk regiment in 1898 as 2nd Lieutenant and was made Captain on 7th November 1900, seeing action in the Boer war and WWI in 1915. He left the army in 1920. The tin measures 35cm x 29cm.

The revolver is in good overall condition. Most of the blued finish remains, there are some very light pitting spots that can be seen and a small amount of finish wear. The action works correctly in both single and double. It has a strong feeling mainspring and the indexing is correct. There is very minor side to side play with the action is cocked. The bore is good with crisp rifling and no pitting. Two screwheads show signs of being worked. The grips are free from splits or repairs, there are some very small chips to the edges of the grips.

The action works correctly in both single and double, it has a strong feeling mainspring and the indexing is correct. There is a small amount of side-to-side play in the cylinder when the action is cocked. The bore has very a crisp rifling pattern but there is some light pitting visible on the lands. The grips have dents and wear, there is a very small flat chip to the corner of the grip where it meets the frame which is best seen in image no.4 online There are a few light dents to the frame and barrel.

Most of the blued finish is worn away, some light pitting spots can be seen. The action works correctly in both single and double. It has a strong feeling mainspring and the indexing is correct. There is very minor side to side play with the action is cocked. The bore is good with crisp rifling and no pitting. The grips are free from splits or repairs, there are some very small chips an dents to the chequering.

The steel parts are all polished and may have been lightly repolished. There are some very light pitting spots that can be seen and the odd very minor surface corrosion spot. The action works correctly in both single and double. It has a strong feeling mainspring and the indexing is correct. There is very slight side to side play with the action is cocked. The bore is excellent with crisp rifling and no pitting. The grips are free from splits or repairs.
