WORLD CUP MASTERFILE Four albums each headed World Cup Master file, issued 1986, each folder contains World Cup related postage stamps issued by many countries for the various tournaments and covers the history of the World Cup from 1930. Includes a match report , photograph and stamp from each game in the 1986 Mexican Tournament plus a collection of commemorative covers from the 86 Tournament. Generally good
Pair of Prince of Wales 1969 Investiture chairs, by Remploy designed by Anthony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon, constructed from laminated olive ash stained vermillion red, the backs bearing gilt Prince of Wales feathers and his motto ICH DIEN (I serve) with red cushion seats, the underside of each seat bears a Prince of Wales feathers stamp and 1969, (2) 78cm high Together with two programs from the event. Re-upholstered by Mick Sheridan Upholstery using re-manufactured cloth from the original Welsh tweed mill that supplied to Remploy in 1969. During the re-upholstery work the original screws securing seat to frame were maintained to insure originality. The colour so often seen on these chairs today is a faded orange however these chairs represent how they would have originally appeared in the vermillion red tweed that was specially designed not to run and stain the guests clothes should there be a downpour! 4,000 of these chairs were produced for the Prince of Wale’s investiture in 1969. Lord Snowdon’s design was manufactured by disabled workers at the Remploy factory in Bridgend. Guests at the ceremony were invited to purchase their chairs after the event and for £12 received their chair flat packed Ikea style for them to reassemble.
