An 18th Century Flintlock Holster Pistol by R Wilding, 20 bore, the 26cm three stage round barrel signed and with maker's stamp, with signed and foliate engraved rounded lock plate, the walnut full stock carved with raised panels, with two facetted brass ramrod pipes, shaped trigger guard with acanthus leaf tip, the shaped escutcheon worked as an open mouth, pierced dragon shaped side plate, the spurred butt cap with lion head pommel, with wood ramrod, 42cm. Strong action works, holds at full and half cock. Deep pitting to all steel work. Each side of the fore-end has a fine diagonal crack near the muzzle. Minor bruising. Tip of ramrod is broken off.
