Reddell & Co” on backstrap, and with inspector’s stamp at forte, regulation steel hilt with langets, knucklebow, plain pommel and backstrap with “ears”, leather covered ribbed grip, in its steel scabbard (one or two minor dents) with 2 rings. GC, with a good dark patina to hilt and scabbard.

MFG CO HARTFORD C.T' and dated '1864'; piston engraved with American Eagle; wooden, full stock with iron mounts and ramrod. Butt-plate marked 'US'. length 142 cm.

Leather scabbard (signs of use) with brass mounts and two lugs. length 95 cm.
