A SILVER MOUNTED ROCKING DESK BLOTTERIncorporating two hinged compartments to hold postage stamps, length 11.5cm, Birmingham 1905.Condition Report: The central knob does unscrew. We have only attempted to remove the sliver platform from the bottom but this seems very stiff. We are reluctant to persevere with this. The photograph is of a royal commemorative stamp commemorating the wedding of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Philips. The glazing to this section is missing. The other two stamps, being Edward VII one penny and half penny, are very faded. The compartments are gilded within, this is rather weak, particularly on one side. Date letter to hallmark is rather rubbed. Two corners of the silver mount are a bit dented. Width 7cm. The blackened finish to the sides of the blotter are in good condition.

Exceptionally rare and historic photograph of Hampshire F.A. XI, circa 1893-94,taken at Bournemouth, stamp to reverse for the Royal Central Photo Co., several players can be identified, centre row 2nd left Stewart (Bournemouth & Fordingbridge), W Ponting centre middle row with football Andover FC and most famous of all Charles William Miller right centre row, 22 by 27cm.Charles William Miller, considered the father of Brazilian football, born in 1874 in San Paulo was sent to public school in Southampton and whilst at school he played against Corinthians at St Marys (Southampton). He played for Hampshire FA 1893-94 and returned to Brazil in 1894 with tow footballs and a set of the Hampshire FA Rules. He set up San Paulo Athletic Club on 13th May 1898 and this eventually was named by him as Corinthians. He died in San Paulo in 1953.
Cassius Clay and Sonny Liston signed leather boxing glove, the tan left hand leather glove by J.C. Higgins of Sears & Roebuck, signed by both boxers in their prime during the build up to the first fight in 1964, the Clay autograph dated, signatures in black ink, bears makers stamp on the palm, sold with a typed Craig R Hamilton COA and four b&w photographs featuring Cassius Clay and Sonny Liston, two of which featuring similar boxing gloves being worn by the two boxers, 20 by 25cm., and 25 by 20cm., (6) Cassius Clay defeated the World Heavyweight Champion Sonny Liston twice, the first bout on the 25th February 1964 at Miami Beach and the second bout on the 25th May 1965 in Lewiston, Maine where Clay won in a first round knock-out.

The first leg played on 22nd of April 1961 at Rotherham resulted in a 2-0 win for Rotherham. The second leg played at Villa Park on 5th of September resulted in a 3-0 win for Aston Villa before a crowd of 27,000. After extra time Aston Villa won on aggregate 3-2 and became the first ever winners of the League Cup Final. Stan Lynn only played in the 1st Leg.Provenance: The Stan Lynn Collection.
