Pair of flowerpots. China, second half of the 20th century.Glazed ceramic. With stamp on the base.Measurements: 28 x 30 cm.Pair of Chinese flowerpots made in ceramics and decorated with a style inspired by the Black Family of the Kangxi period (1662-1722), a very rare decorative group at the end of the 17th century and beginning of the 18th century, but very frequent in the pieces of the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. The Black Family style is a sub-group of the Green Family, characterised by the use of black enamel as the background for the decoration, so that the brushstroke motif remains in reserve. The base is marked with an allusion to the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1711-1799) of the Qing dynasty, as a tribute to the artistic splendour of the past. Inside, they are decorated with red fish swimming among seaweed.
