Delmay (large stamp size) at front, contemp. half morocco over marbled boards with orig. printed wrappers retained (sl. soiled), 8vo, (83/500 copies), together with [Camuset, Georges], Les Sonnets du Docteur, 3rd ed., Paris, 1893, two etched plts. by Rops plus facsimile of a letter by Monselet, a little spotting, orig. wrappers with etched frontis. by Rops, somewhat spotted and soiled and with damp staining visible to endpapers and pastedowns, facsimile plt. and lower border of the two Rops plts., glassine d.j. somewhat soiled and worn, plus the original copper etching plt. of the frontis. by Rops (13 x 9.5cm), contained in orig. envelope with an impression of the etching to upper cover, sl. soiled, plus Henry (F.-N.), Le Diable Dupe par les Femmes, 1st ed., Brussels, 1881, etched frontis. by Rops (somewhat browned), text in red, green and black, orig. printed wrappers in glassine d.j., wrappers a little chipped with loss, small 8vo, (143/500 copies), plus four others with Rops frontispieces or plts. The model used for the etching plate is believed to be Leontine Duluc, the same model used for one of his most famous works, the Pornocrates of 1878. (8)
* Rosenbaum (Julius, 1897-1956). A sketchbook of animal studies, 40 pages, containing pencil drawings of lions, cows, deer, horses, birds, chimpanzees, camels, sheep, giraffes, etc., a few blank leaves, some soiling, first leaf detached and a little frayed, leaf size 21 x 25.8cm (8.25 x 10.25ins), artist’s ink stamp on front pastedown (with Berlin address), orig. boards, rubbed and soiled, oblong 4to. Rosenbaum was a painter, printmaker and teacher, born in Neuenberg, Germany. Forbidden to paint by the Nazis, he and his wife fled to London in 1939 where he continued to paint until his death. His wife, Adele Reifenberg, ran a private art school in London and painted and exhibited in her own right. (1)

Lord Palmerston. An autograph letter in black ink on one side of a folded black-bordered sheet, `Tiverton 28 March/ 1857/ My dear Sir/ I beg you to/ accept my best Thanks/ for your letter of the/ 25 of this Month/ Yrs Faithfully/ Palmerston/ C Stevenson Esq`, in an envelope addressed `Charles Stevenson Esq/ Derby/ Palmerston` with a black wax seal impressed with the Viscount`s crest and coronet (cut from the back and now tipped to the front) and a penny red stamp Henry John Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston, KG, GCB, PC (1784-1865) was a British statesman who served twice as Prime Minister. Popularly nicknamed `Pam`, he was in government office almost continuously from 1807 until his death in 1865. He was MP for Tiverton from 1835 until his death.
