1844 June 23rd wrapper addressed to Bury, Lancs, bearing a four margined 1841 1d red brown QD, well tied by a fine strike of the distinctive Manchester Type I Maltese Cross, a further strike of the MC alongside the adhesive - this appears to have been applied to eliminate traces of a previously adhered stamp! The obverse bears a Hollinswood (Manchester) UDC and the reverse a further illegible c.d.s, an attractive cover and an excellent example of this distinctive MC showing one of the four points of the centre being longer. Symbol: D
