Postal History: 1951 Airmail cover to Singapore, 12c rate paid by two 1c chocolate and two 5c orange perf 14, one showing R1/8 '5c' retouch (SG 82a), tied by SERIA/BRUNEI cds for 28 JE 51. also by KUALA BELAIT cds for 29 JU 51, by Singapore arrival cds for 6 JUL 51, it appears the addressee was unknown and the cover was returned (with appropriate instructional marks) on 31 JUL 51, a few small faults but variety stamp fine (Plate)
Postal History: Substantial world-wide accumulation from pre-stamp to modern, all loose in five cartons, GB includes a number of better items seen include English provincial post mileage marks, a couple of London 'Docwra' type penny post marks from 1760s, a number of QV and KEVII registered covers incl 4_d rate, non-GB includes a number of 'crash covers', also a quantity of picture postcards including some used from smaller CIs and Lundy, mostly fine, viewing strongly recommended! 1948 (3 Sep) stampless locally addressed cover bearing fine single ring POSTAGE PAID/3/HONG KONG cds for 3 SEP 48 in red with blue crayon m/s '2' above, this mark was used only on this day between 11am and 3.30pm, this followed a typhoon which made travel in HK difficult and resulted in some post office staff being unable to attend, this included those with keys to the secure stamp storage with the result that no stamps were available until later in the day, this particular mark was used on bulk mailings (see Yang page 170), also a Cambodia 1960 Sihanoukville fdc
