1888 '10 CENTS' (type 2) on 4d mauve (SG 28), block of eighteen (6 x 3) being the upper three rows of the sheet with full margins showing plate number '1' (x 2), fresh u/m (except the last stamp with hinge used to re-enforce the perfs to margin), the top margin clearly shows six impressions of an albino blanked out '20 CENTS' surcharge, demonstrating the adjustment of the previous 6 x 6 setting used to surcharge the 6d yellow, folded central vertical perfs, and some gum wrinkling, but a fascinating and desirable showpiece, rare

1917 (26 Feb) 1½d (type 15) on 2½d deep blue lower left corner block of twelve ( 6 x 2) with varieties No fraction bar, pos 9/4 and Straight serif, pos. 10/2 (SG 54/a/b), control '5' in lower margin, a few faults in the margins and light bend on stamp 11 but generally the stamps fine u/m, a wonderful positional multiple
1946 Victory 1½d and 3d in matching upper left corner blocks of six (2x3), both showing Stop after '1946' variety, pos. 1/1 and 2/1 respectively, the former not listed in SG catalogue (SG 127/var and 128/a), both blocks with a trivial tone spot on the reverse of stamp 2, otherwise both fine u/m, nice positional multiples

1918-19 'WAR STAMP' and 1918 1c on 5c collection neatly mounted and annotated on 13 pages (also two on a card), comprising 41 corner blocks (34 blocks of 6, seven blocks of 4) showing the different combinations of plate numbers and overprint or surcharge control numbers, fresh o.g. (most stamps u/m). With 'WAR STAMP' 2c (x6), 3c large 'c' (x1), 3c small 'c' (x4), 5c purple (x9), 5c magenta (x1), 1c on 5c purple (x8) and 1c on 5c magenta (x2), and surcharge only 1c on 5c purple (x9) and 1c on 5c magenta (x1), a comprehensive and fascinating lot, which could not readily be assembled today, but is still capable of further expansion
1912-25 1 purple, four positional multiples comprising lower left corner block of four (pale shade) on the unlisted yellow buff, lower right corner horizontal pair (deep shade) on yellow, each with plate number '4', upper left corner block of four on orange buff (SG 315c) with plate number '3' (upper left stamp with small surface mark) and lower left corner block of six on lemon with plate number '2', the upper pair on the orange-buff u/m the others fine large part o.g.
1918-19 2c brown-orange, 3c deep green and 5c bright magenta overprinted 'WAR STAMP' (type 54), each with Double overprint also 2c and 5c with Inverted overprint (SG 330a,b, 332a, 334a,b), the 2c (double) used, the others large part o.g. or (5c) o.g., the 2c and 3c with light overall gum toning, cat £322
1880 2½d rosy mauve, plate 14, lettered 'AL', upper marginal with '2½d' value indicator, exceptionally with the red '(Crown)/POSTAGE 2½d handstamp (which should have appeared in the right margin) ON THE STAMP (SG 3var), fine o.g. (hinged in margin) with fresh colour, small gum disturbance at SE corner, but a very rare and remarkable item
