An early 20th century Royal Engineers Home Service Blue cloth helmet by Hawkes & Co, London: gilt crosspiece with spike and rose bosses, the helmet plate with King's crown over regimental crest, rose chin bosses, leather backed chainmail chinstrap, retains brown leather headband to interior with maker's stamp as per title.
