REEL: Very rare Hardy pre production "The Triumph" centre pin spinning reel stamped "The Eureka Reel", different in detail to the production 1923-28 Triumph, only 3 known examples exist stamped "Eureka" to backplate, lever check and rim tension adjuster to backplate edge, nickel button brake release button, correct smooth alloy foot, perforated drum with twin black handles. Confusion exists between the 2 models in both John Drewett`s book 254-255 and Graham Turner`s previous book, as to the confusing stamp of these reels, it would appear that this is a pre production or test reel prior to the introduction to the Triumph in the 1923 catalogue. This reel dates c1921-22? Fine condition with fibre box.
